Question about Casio Parts Cash Register PC Desktop

1 Answer

Hi. I have a Casio CE-3700 that is only used for a few weeks of the year. Once I month I try to turn on the machine and leave it powered up for around a day. I am now wanting to actually use the machine. When I turned the key to Reg. The display showed just 0 our other CE-3700s always displays 0.00 If I tried to push any buttons the message E04 appears. I followed your advice. Turning off at wall holding down the recept feed button. Turning on again then lots of Fs appeared. the till now appears to work but I am still faced with just a 0 and the automatic decimal point does not appear at the correct time. Eg Instead of displaying 1.34 it will display 134 Not until a 4 th digit is typed eg 1.233 will the decimal point appear. Your advice would be appreciated

It sounds like the machine has lost some programming. What you were doing once per month is what I recommend if not used regularly, but the battery has probably now got to the stage where it is too old to even hold charge for a month. It is probably best to get the battery (internal vanadium type) replaced as it may have started leaking if it is too old. The dealer who replaces it can reset your decimal places at the same time. If you just want to get it running as is and take a chance, then do the flag clear (to get the FFFFFFFFFF on display then SUBTOTAL) on one of your WORKING machines, and tell me the big number that it prints out (this will not lose any data on your working machines, it just reads the settings)

I have a casio CE3700 cash register. The machine locked up. I followed the normal procedures to resolve this, however when I turned the power back on from the socket the machine fails to turn on at all...

It sounds like there is a good reason for it locking up the first time then. Most commonly it is caused by a printer problem. Most Casio models will run the printer before they turn the display on, so if you can't hear the printer run at turn on, I'd start there. Look for paper jams. make sure the motor can turn freely. If the motor is okay, check the battery. You can experience weird problems if the battery has not been replaced on time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have casio ce-3700 cash register and i have problem E04 and noies come beep any one help me plz.

This is caused by incomplete initialisation. it means the program may be corrupt from being unplugged for too long, or you may have a bad battery inside the machine (change it every five years).
Firstly, try a flag clear to jump it back to REG mode:
Turn power off at wall Turn key to program position Hold down RECEIPT FEED button. Keep your finger on it. Turn power on at wall Wait 5 seconds, then let go of RECEIPT FEED Press SUBTOTAL
Turn key back to REG mode and try it. If the programming is corrupt, you will often see the decimal point in the wrong place.
If you want to re-program it, there is a manual for the CE-3700 here:

Casio error 04 to 09

Hi. It means the password has not been entered. I suspect this machine has not been RAM cleared properly after the battery was changed. What MAC code did you enter when you changed the battery and initialised it?

Casio CE 3700

Hi.
It sounds like this machine has a faulty battery. If the problem happened after a power cut, or the machine was stored, then this problem can occur. You will need to fully reset the RAM and start again. I wouldn't advise this until you have changed the battery. If you want to do it yourself, contact a Casio dealer and order a battery for it. Then open the register and plug the new battery in and get back to me. I can help you to clear it and recover the decimal places.

Casio ce-3700 e01

Hi. You have turned the key before you finished what you were doing in another mode. A flag clear will jump you back to reg mode. Try this:

Turn power off at wall.
Turn key to program mode.
Hold RECEIPT FEED button down.
Turn power on at wall and let go of RECEIPT FEED after 5 seconds.
You should see 'FFFFFFF' on display
Press SUBTOTAL
Turn key back to reg mode and try it.

Casio CE-3700 lockup

Hi,
It sounds like you have a flat, or faulty backup battery. The machine has probably lost all programming. This is common if the machine has been stored.

Try this:

Turn key to program.
Turn power off at wall.
Hold JOURNAL FEED.
Turn power on at wall.
When you see '000000000' or 'LLLLLLLLLL' type 21151 (for Europe), or type 12300 (for USA) then press SUBTOTAL

If you still have trouble, just let me know.

Casio CE-3700 cash register MAC instructions

Hi. I would advise both of you to try a flag clear first to see if you have any program left.

Turn key to program. Power off at wall.
Hold RECEIPT FEED, and turn power on at wall.
Wait 10 seconds, then let go of RECEIPT FEED.
When you see 'FFFFFFFFF' press SUBTOTAL.
Turn key back to REG and try it.

If you still need help, let me know.

How to fix

hi JPOWER,

my problem in finding a solution to this problem is the fact that Casio doesn't allow anyone who isn't a Casio supplier to download the manual for the CE 3700.
I would firstly suggest that you cycle the power on the machine if you've not tried that already. To do this you need to power down the machine and physically remove it from its power source. Keep it powered down like this for 30s to 1min to allow the machine's memory to clear. Power it back up and try logging in now.

If this doesn't work and you still have the manual for the CE 3700, try looking up some section in it relating to the procedure to restore the machine to its factory settings. With the machine restored to its factory settings you'll be able to log into the machine as if you just bought it, with the down side of losing all the data acquired by the machine before the restore to factory settings was performed.

If this doesn't work either the possibility of physical damage to a electrical component of the register should be considered and could be verified by a electrical technician.

Hope you find this information helpful in solving the problem with your cash register and thanks for using the FixYa service
Kind regards
