You might as well, since it isn't working now. As it stands, you've got nothing to lose.

HP G60-230US drops Wireless Connection

I would first try updating the drivers on your HP. Here is a link to the most recent drivers from HP.
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=3860153&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=us
Select your OS to continue, then under network, select your wireless device. Download and install the new driver. You also might check your router for firmware updates. These can usually be found by the same method of going to the manufactures web site and downloading the appropriate firmware update for you router.

If all this fails you might change the channel on the router. Channel 1 is normally good.

I hope this helps you out.

I reformatted with Windows Vista and network controller not working. Loaded as many drivers as I know and still cannot not connect wireless to internet.

Use an Ethernet cable to connect your computer to your cable-modem (or router or DSL-modem).
Run "Windows Update", and choose a "custom" scan.
When the scan completes, click 'Optional Hardware Updates',
to see if Windows Update has a device-driver for your "wireless" adapter.
If so, select that driver, download it, and install it.

I cannot connnect wirelessly with my linksys e1000 router and was told by their experts that my hp pavilion entertainment pc needed an update for the driver of my wireless adapter. I did go to hp website...

Hi,
Check the following steps to connect wireless linksys router :

First, you have to connect the router to the ADSL or the cable modem.

Your system has to be set in such a way that it will get its TCP/IP network settings from the router via DHCP.

Second, you need to configure the router to use your Internet service.

Connect the antennas to the Linksys wireless router. Connect an Ethernet cable to the Internet port at the back of the Linksys router and it will establish a connection between your modem and router.

Connect another Ethernet cable between the computer and the router. Then connect the router to an electrical outlet.

Loses connection all the time have to reset top make it work again

If you connect the computer directly to the modem
does it work properly.
If that works properly then your modem is working
properly.
Try to upgrade the firmware of the router.
Is there any computer connected to the router with
the cable.
If not then you will need to connect the computer
to the router.
Download the firmware of the router from the
manufacturer's website.
enter the model number. select proper version
number and download the firmware of the router.
Once you download the firmware, you will need to
open the router set up and upgrade the firmware of
the router.
After upgrading the firmware, it is recommended
that you reset and reconfigure the router.

Netgear MR814 and windows 7 issues

There shouldn't be any issues with the router as a result of Windows 7. The Router does not interact with the computer in such a way as to cause incompatibility like with hardware or software.
That said, what could be causing issues may be out of date WiFi card drivers. Windows 7 has an incredible driver database and I have only come across a handful of things it doesn't detect. But sometimes even with the things it does pick up, a better driver is available.

You should run Windows Update by going to Start (2252758.gif), All Programs, and then Windows Update. If not already set up, you should click change settings on the left and make sure all recommended updates are received like important updates. This way you will get all updates available, including hardware updates.

If this does not seem to improve the situation I will be posting a How To on properly configuring your Netgear router. This will ensure your settings are set to their most optimal settings.

Good Luck,

Internet connection

I think you have the software LELA (linksys easylink advisor) installed in your computer. Sometimes if it's not updated you it will prompt that you're not connected to the internet though you have internet access.

Solutions:
1) update your LELA - go to linksys.com/download
there's a field there that says enter model/serial number - just type in LELA - then click enter
- on the next page - click on get downloads then select version 3.1
- below there's an option that says download and drivers and you can see there LELA 3.1 just click on the download link and save it in your desktop folder

note: it's quite a big file - more than 200Mb
- before you install it make sure you uninstall the old LELA in your computer
- to uninstall it - just go to add/remove programs then remove linksys easylink advisor

hope this helps... Tech what you want

Purchased wireless router and it does not work. I was told by tech support from the router that I "need to upgrade my adapter"?

Yes, it may be that the wireless card that you have is defective or its disabled. If you can connect by using a direct network cable (cat5) connection to the router (if its a combo router ) from your PC's network card ( not necessarily your wireless card unless its also a combo) then the router is good. You may also need to upgrade your wireless driver or may just need the correct driver.
