Question about Frigidaire FGX831C Top Load Stacked Washer / Dryer

Open Question

Washer won't remove all water from final spin.

Washer goes through it's cycles, the dial moves as it should and then for the final spin it just stops. I've tried restarting the cycle from the beginning and also from the last cycle that worked but always the same result.

My stackable washer/dryer is about 3 years old, purchased in 2007 and gently used.

My neighbor stopped by to look at it and said he thought it was a small rectangular motor located on the bottom front of the washer and two hoses came into this part that needed to be replaced. His online research said it cost around $87. He also verified it wasn't a lid issue.

Unfortunately this friend has moved and I don't recall the name of the part I need to order.

Can you confirm his diagnosis and tell me the name of the part I need to order and where I can purchase it, whether it be in my area or online. I need it ASAP. My zip code is 75002, Allen TX.

Thank you in advance for your help!

SOURCE: Frigidaire Front Loader Won't Drain

if your washer is digital or with elecronic control board check the the motor control board located at the bottom difiniely you have to call a tech to confirm that. other model like wd5595 and wd 8095 has the same problem and it is the motor control unit that always fails.

SOURCE: washer will not drain on regular cycle

The problem is certainly related to drain hose and or outlet connection.
Make sure it is not trapped or kinked behind the washer.
Changing the position of the washer could esily have caused the hose to twist and restrict the outflow of water.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks,
r.

SOURCE: Frigidaire front loading washer stopped at rinse cycle. 3 beeps

When in doubt check the easiest thing to check. The pump can cause a number of errors to come up. Since the unit stopped in rinse I would start but checking to make sure there is nothing obstructing the pump before going to the expensive parts.

There should be 2 screws at the rear of the top section. Remove those screws and pull the top backward and it should come off.

My Frigidaire front loader washer drum will not turn or agitate but will fill water and drain water, what is the problem?

Hello acoach194 - If the washer is not agitating try the following steps:

1) Verify a circuit breaker isn't tripped

2) Advance the timer control dial slowly 360 degrees-

If the washer starts spinning, then the motor and drive belt are fine but that there is something wrong with either the timer control dial or the agitator solenoid. Call in a professional for this. If the washer doesn't budge, then verify that the drive belt(s) is attached and not broken by removing the back panel. If the belt is broken, then it will need to be replaced. If it is loose, then it will need to be tightened. A professional will need to do so by loosening up the bolt holding the motor and moving it on its swingarm (much like a car alternator) until there is a 1/2 to 3/4 inch deflection in the belt.
Some washers use reversing motors. It's possible the motor works on the spin cycle but not on the wash cycle. If so, once again call a pro.

3) Visually inspect the lid safety switch- Is it loose or cracked? If so, the washer might work intermittently, stopping at different cycles.

4) Check motor and drive belt- Remove the main access panel (usually in the back). Is the motor spinning, but the drive belt isn't? If so, then you have a drive belt problem.

Agitator won't spin and water won't drain during spin cycle

Hi
Try these things first.
1) Verify a circuit breaker isn't tripped
2) Advance the timer control dial slowly 360 degrees-
If the washer starts spinning, then we know the motor and drive belt are fine but that there is something wrong with either the timer control dial or the agitator solenoid. Call in a professional for this.
If the washer doesn't budge, then verify that the drive belt(s) is attached and not broken by removing the back panel. If the belt is broken, replace it. If it is loose, then tighten it by loosening up the bolt holding the motor and moving it on its swingarm (much like a car alternator) until there is a 1/2 to 3/4 inch deflection in the belt. Some washers use reversing motors. It's possible the motor works on the spin cycle but not on the wash cycle. If so, call a pro.
Go here. If the motor isn't spinning, then go here for washer motor troubleshooting.
If none of these tips resolve the problem, then there's probably a more serious problem with either the motor, the transmission or the agitator itself. If this is is the case, call in a pro.
Thanks for using Fixya.

Will not discharge water or go into spin cylcle.

I would have to guess you have a dead spot in the timer. If it stops moving, it would still tick like a clock but the internals of it are not catching to send it into discharge and spin.
