Due to the my Indesit IDL 530 dishwasher not draining properly, I turned it onto it's left side, removed the base plate and pump and checked for blockages in the pump and associated hoses, which were all clear. However in re-assembling it I have forgotten which way round to connect the twin wire plug to the base plate. I cannot find a relevant wiring diagram online and therefore cannot tell which is the correct way around. I then guessed and re-assembled it anyway, and as you might have guessed it's not draining. I don't need an answer to the draining issue, as I've remembered that it's still under guarantee, I just need to know which colour wire is at the top or left or whichever way round you can best describe it. Please can you advise. Many thanks Jeremy

The previous expert has mis understood the question. I do not need advice about the draining problem.

I only want to know how to re-connect the wire that attach to the baseplate.

how do I tell which way round to connect the connector with 2 coloured wires to the base plate?

    many thanks

Thanks for your response, which I don't fully understand, please can you explain this without using electrician terminology, i'm not an electrician. what is the:
    drain contact?
    overflow micro switch?
    where is the control board?
when you say "gray from control board to switch" does the word switch mean the connector on the baseplate?

    many thanks

    Jeremy

Hi.

There is more than one wire going from control board to the tub. If the connector can be plugged either way without forcing it, then usually does not make any difference the way you plug this determined connector.
It will be useful to know wires colors, and where wiring is connecting .
Color codes are also different depending on the country.
If the contact is 120V AC connector (eg.pump), it does not make any difference the way you connect it.

If wires are going to Drain pump, in UK those should be black , gray or brown for wire coming from drain contact on control board through over flow micro switch (gray from control board to switch).

Check drain and screen. If clogged, clean it out. If not clogged, check pump to make sure it's not missing fins or loose or clogged

What's the section panels at the side of the indesit IDL 530 dishwasher for

several dishwashers come with side panels that allow the outside parts to be held in place and this aids in the units performance and lack of leaking, best to leave them on or intact.

Indesit IDL 500 Pump noise when switched on not continuous, sounds like it is acting in surges, and the pre-wash indicator light flashes in time with the surges. Is this a fault, what is the solution?

this indicates that there is water in the base of the unit activating the safety float switch... usually a leak..or an overfill due to blocked filter
Power off & remove plug
1st port of call would be to drain the base by pulling forward and tipping back.. make sure you have large towels to hand...
Once drained power up again and put on quick wash...
if cycle completes verify no leak by tipping back again and no water should flow..
if there is a leak then the flashing would resume during cycle... and best get someone in to locate as there are a few possibilities...

Flashing green light on my indesit dishwasher

Put some towels dowm and tip the dishwasher over to one side about 45 degrees, if water pours out of the base it means that the dishwasher is in "flood mode" and you have a leak into the base that will need resolving.
Thanks
