Lamp fan removal

Hello,
My DLP was Dx as having a bad lamp fan. I ordered a fan and thought I could take care of the problem based on the location of the fan(behind color wheel/facing right side). I removed the four screws on the fan ***. and it will not budge. Am I missing some screws? Is there a trick?? There is not enough tolerence to simply lift the top of the bracket off to replace the fan.

Thanks for your help,

Steve

There may be a brace the needs to be removed and then there will be a screw below it that is still holding in the fan, do you see any such brace and screw?

Please let me know if you need further help and I would be glad to help

Samsung HLR5064W DLP TV load vibrating noise like a fan blade hitting something, lamp light is one, Tv will light up but discolored

Sounds like a bad color wheel----remove lamp---the wheel faces it--look for missing pieces or the wheel shattered---these are known for the wheel making a loud high pitched sound or even a grinding sound if the wheel shatters.

if wheel bad You Tube has video instructions for replacing it---seen several people able to do this themselves in about a hour. Google the model number to ("color wheel") to locate a replacement on the internet.10_24_2012_3_58_01_pm.jpg

Samsung DLP HL-S5087W 56" Confused...

Those lamps can be pretty touchy and susceptible to temperature changes and finger prints. Also some discount lamp dealers can accidently sell you the wrong lamp. Something simple and dull to try is to take that lamp out and put it back in, check that the connections are seated properly and the air pathway from the fans is clear.  If the fans were dirty and you put in a new bulb that worked for a while it may have burned out prematurely.

Samsung dlp hls6186w, picture has darkened, could it be the lamp or is it the colour wheel??... tv is making sounds...I thought it was the fan, the fan looks okay??? It also shuts down once and a while...

The lamp is the only thing that will cause the picture to go darker. According to the model you have the lamp part number is BP96-01472A. The noise you hear could possibly be the color wheel itself. The way to tell is when you turn off the TV the lamp stays on for about 10 seconds longer. Once the lamp shuts off if that noise goes away then it is a bad color wheel. Any noises past that would be a fan. Please take a moment to rate my answer. Thanks...

Can't remove light bulbs in order to replace them. just won't unscrew.

depending on what type of lamp in unit it may have a" bayonet base" lamp.what you need to do to remove lamp is to gently push in on lamp and turn 90 degrees its not a candelabra base like a conventional base bulb,if its a candelabra base they get stuck in the base from the heat and cold you may need to carefully break lamp and use a needle nose pliers to remove base of bulb

I own a Samsung DLP tv. It shuts off after being on for about one hour. It will restart but does shuts off again in a few minutes.

Your Lamp maybe going out replace it,also CK your Fan right behind lamp set will stop coming on if it is not running, Fan could be bad.Order Lamp on E-Bay I found lamps for 82.00 fixing to order one for My TV which is also a Samsung.Last TV I repair that did like that it was the Fan.But always remember lamp only has 5,000 to 8000 playing hours.

50? Samsung DLP TV Model #HLR-5067W

Did you use an original replacement lamp or an aftermarket replacement? From the price you give, it sounds like an aftermarket lamp, which are notoriously buggy and the problem may be with the lamp. If not, the lamp driver is your next likely culprit. It is also called a lamp power supply or lamp ballast.

TV Magnavox 50ML8105D/17 Problem

I have the same problem my DLP TV would shut off after 30 minutes or less all red LED's. Solution: The fan on the lamp assembly was not turning at the proper RPM (bearing going bad) so it was going into overtemp mode. The original part number was a SUNON KDE1209ptv3 12v 1.3W I had a hard time finding one to match that spec. DIGI-KeyCorp (www.digikey.com) was able to cross reference it to a 3 lead P11034-ND part number (NMB-MAT model fba09a12L).

I Installed the fan and problem went away.
Procedure:
Remove the lamp from the lamp assembly
Remove the back panel.
From the back, slide the main circuit board to the left (loose one screw)
Remove the power interlock on the lamp assembly (2 screws)
Disconnect Lamp assembly cooling fan lead.
Remove the 4 silver slotted screws on the lamp assembly, 2 in the front and 2 in the back.
Carefully remove the lamp assembly from the rear. WATCH the Mirror.
Remove fan, cut leads and solder or **** splice on to the new fan.
Repeat steps for installation
