Question about Bosch Dishwashers

My Bosch Dishwasher will not power up

My Bosch ''she43f02uc/52'' dishwasher will not power up. I have changed receptacles, but no success. There is a small amount of water still in the bottom of the appliance. It seems to have shut down near the end of a cleaning cycle, but I cannot get it to power up again.

Hi, Welcome to FixYa.

I would start by first shutting off the breaker.

You mentioned you replaced the "receptacles", I'm not sure if you are referring to the junction box but...I would start by removing the kick plate ( access panel at the bottom ) and checking the wiring at the junction box for the dishwasher 120vac supply line.

This is actually quite common to find a wire murret/connector come loose due to improper fastening and once the unit is in use for a while the connections heat & cool, become loose from normal operating vibrations and burn up from all the added heat caused by "resistance".

The end result is no power to the controls. Check it out and post back what you find.

Thanks for visiting "fixya" and please take a moment to rate the solution/suggestion provided here for you.

Good luck.

    Hello again,

I see you rated my post, but you didn`t comment on what you found.

Did you find the problem ?

I was going to suggest other possibilities, but that would have been based on your reply or your findings. I typically start with the most common, therefore the most likely problem based on a visitor`s description ( which I did ) and go from there.

If you could let me know what you found or if the issue has been resolved that would be awesome.

    thanks again,

    macmarkus :)

I can't thank you enough. Pulled off the kick plate and the access plate to the junction box and it was exactly what you said it would be. Thank you for your time and talent.

Hi, if its still under warranty you should call bosch and get them to arrange a service engineer to come out and check it for a fault.

Should still be under warranty. Contact retailer. Don't try doing anything else to it in case you void the warranty.

BOSCH SHE43RF5UC fills with water during off periods

You are correct. The inlet water valve is leaking. It might be worn or have debris stuck in it. There is a very small chance that the electrical signal from the controller is letting a small amount of current in and holding it open. To rule out this problem you can uplug the machine and see if it stops filling. Otherwise just replace the valve. IT is not hard to do.

Bosch Dishwasher stuck at 1

I am currently experiencing a very similar problem. However, I have taken the dishwasher out of the kitchen and plumbed and power it up outside. After tipping the water out of the reservoir on the side, it will start a cycle, it will circulate water. But sticks at 1 minute, trying to pump out water and I'm assuming being told by a sensor that there's water still in the machine. Also I note a small amount of water escaping via the plastic base and water pooling in the base.
Doing the code test shows C2 P0 E1 and then 2 depending on the buttons pressed.
My next task is to get it on a workbench on it's side and take the base off. I'm going to try to trace the source of the water in the base and go from there...

Dishwasher: BOSCH SHE43 - pump keeps draining

Your dishwasher is stuck in flood mode. Bosch dishwashers are built with flood switches located in the bottom base pan of the dishwasher. The flood switch is connected to a rod that activates a small interlock switch. When water enters the base pan on a Bosch dishwasher, a Styrofoam puck lifts the rod, activating the flood switch.

When the flood switch is activated, the dishwasher will go into a no-fill, only-drain mode. The drain motor may also run with the door open to the unit. This is definitely a sign there is water in the base pan. This can be caused by the drain being clogged. There are two ways to fix:

1. You can uninstall the dishwasher and tip it forward to about a 45 degree angle to drain the water out of the base pan. (This is probably why Ian Bint's solution fixed the problem.) Be sure to put a towel under the dishwasher first so that the water is soaked up in the towel instead of going all over the floor. Once you've drained all the water out of the base pan, reinstall the dishwasher and begin a cycle. If it fills and runs, you are good to go.

2. You can also unplug the unit, then remove the kick panel at the bottom in the front. (It's attached with two screws.) Then get some old washcloths or small towels and reach into the base pan below the dishwasher to soak up the water. The pan is directly behind the plastic base panel rim. Once the pan is empty and dry, your dishwasher will no longer be in "flood mode" and will run properly.

If the base pan keeps refilling with water and the no-fill problem returns, there is definitely another issue, such as a clogged drain. At this point, you need to decide whether to invest in an expert evaluation by a certified Bosch repairman and make the necessary repairs, or buy a new dishwasher.

Bosch dishwasher has water in it after finishing a cycle. Is this normal or is there a problem

All dishwashers leave a small amount of water in the sump area to keep the rubber/plastic connections lubricated.

As long as the water is clear and has no odor, you have nothing to be concerned about. OK?
