Kenmore washer model 110 27082601 has error code 5d or sd. can you help

The 5d code is actually an Sd code and it means suds have been detected in the washer. This can indicate to much soap or the wrong kind of soap was used in the washer. Be sure HE detergent is being used. If can also indicate the drain pump is restricted or the drain hose is kinked.

Per Sears Repair Site code 5d is actually SD. Indicating suds detection. It displays when a drag is detected by basket of a suds lock condition. This is generally caused by using too much laundry detergent or the wrong type.

Error code SD/5d means LONG DRAIN. This error appears when the drain time exceeds 8 minutes and the water valves turn off. After 4 minutes the "Sd" error will be displayed, and then 4 minutes later the F21 error code will be displayed. Press PAUSE/CANCEL two times to clear the display. Please Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked. If the drain hose if fine then unplug the washer and check the electrical connections at the pump and make sure the pump is running. Check the drain pump filter for foreign objects. To access the drain pump and filter remove the front kick panel and trace the drain hose to the bottom of the washer, drain pump would be located there. If you are not able to access it, then replace the back panel as well. Plug in washer or reconnect power. If the issue is still not resolved then you would need to replace the drain pump. Error code 5d/Sd means suds have been detected. To solve this problem you have to take the bottom front panel apart and then clean the drain filter pump assembly completely, make sure the washer is unplugged before working on it. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

sd is suds error. add only HE soap. UL is unbalanced load. watch load size and balancing loads.

5d is a definitely a the code for a plugged discharge. We removed the lower access panel and discovered a virtual treasure: $12.50 in quarters, nickels, dimes and pennies, a pen, a pencil, collar stays, 10 bobby-pins, 3 barrettes, a elastic headband, a draw string, a box cutter, 3 washers, 3 broken zipper parts, a elastic waist band. Amazing it took all to trigger a 5d error code. Hope this helps!

In most cases you can run the machine through a couple rinse cycles and clear that right up. If that does not work then you will need to clean out the drain and your pump filter. The filer is located behind the bottom panel and you just unscrew it from the pump. If infact you had a 5D error then I am sorry for misinforming you, I have just never heard of a 5 D and I have been services them for years. I really hope this helped you, good luck.
