Replace the seal between the drum and the front panel. This is a common occurance with the Frigidair dryers. The felt and rubber is made very cheaply

Why is the metal screen with round holes located in my dryer drum melting some clothes and leaving its impression on those clothes. My appliance is a Frigidaire gas dryer model # LAQG7011KBO.

The metal screen is the place where the heat from the dryer enters the drum. If the dryer is melting items, you have one of two possible issues:
  • The dryer thermostats are allowing the dryer to get too hot.
  • You are drying delicate clothes on too high of a heat setting.

Frigidaire Gallery dryer Model FSG447GHSO. Clothes and dryer sheets get caught between the drum and one of the three "bumps" inside the drum, causing burn marks on clothing. I can see the gap where it

There is a gasket that fits around the back side of the tumbler. Sounds like it needs replacing. It's job is to keep clothes inside the tumbler.

Clothes stuck in drum

You might have a drum glide, felt piece, that has come off or unaligned itself from the drum. Contact Frigidaire for one and replace it. You have too much of a gap in the front and that is why your clothing material gets caught.

Frigidaire FSGC747GE gas dryer is causing spots

you may need to replace the upper and lower drum felts, if they are worn, some of the clothing may be getting caught agains the drum and getting a mark on them. if the mark is like a pencil line mark it will be from the dryer, if it is more like an oil spot it will be from your washer. take a look at #20 & 21 in this picture.you may also need to replace the rear bearing which is #12 in this other picture. hope these help you.

Frigidaire crown series dryer

The back of the drum has a hub (a flat steel piece with a shaft and ball) which allows the drum to turn. That ball rides in a plastic "cradle". Unfortunately on the crown series...if the ball and cradle are not greased regularly, the plastic wears. This allows the drum to "sag". The front end of the drum is lower than the back. You can confirm this by running your finger around the front of the drum. You'll notice that the top of the drum is almost flush with the body of the dryer and the bottom of the drum is 3/4 of an inch lower that the the body. This allows clothes to slip into the gap at the bottom and then they are spen to the top pof the drum were the lodge between the body and the top of the drum. The turning drum burns the clothing. Replace the plastic piece that the hub rides in.

Brown marks on clothes

This is a pretty common problem with these Frigidaire dryers. Crice hit it right on the head when he said the clothing is getting stuck between the guides and drum. The upper and lower felt guides need to be changed. This is not one of the easiest jobs. The top and front panel have to come off and the guides are glued on with high temp. adhiesive. The old guides have to be scraped off. Part numbers for the upper and lower guides are 5303937139 -(upper) 5303283286 -(lower). Catriver...post back
