error while unpacking program code 2. please report to author.

Reinstall your anti-virus program. It happens when you perform Microsfot update. Remove antivirus from add/remove programs. Go to antivirus web site (scuh as pctool.com etc) and download latest antivirus and install. You will see the error is gone. Hope this help.

Error while unpacking program, code LP5. Please report to author.

This can be caused by a computer virus that prevents a program from unpacking... you may need to have a better antivirus like kaspersky Internet Security 2009, norton antivirus 2009....

Remember not all antivirus can detect virus... some virus can destroy your pc... especially the hard disk...

this two antivirus is what i have tested to be good in protecting the computer from viruses...

hope it helped you... tnx...

AVG free edition should do the trick, but the safest way to get rid of a virus is reformatting your hard drive.

Antivirxp08, is the name of virsus on my computer

The infection that you have are rogue antivirus programs that, when run, display false results as a tactic to scare you into purchasing the software. Older versions of XP Antivirus would create 9 entries in your Windows Registry that impersonate infections on your machine. In reality, though, these registry entries were harmless and had absolutely no effect on your computer. Instead, these entries were set so that XP AntiVirus can find them when scanning your computer and report them as infections. The newer of versions of the program , such as XP Antivirus 2008 and XP Antivirus 2009, instead just display false results when scanning your computer that state infections were found. In order to remove these fake infections, though, you would first need to purchase the software as the trial does not allow you to remove them. To get rid of the infections you can goto:

www.malwarebytes.org and download it for free...

Good Luck...

I have just purchased Norton Antivirus 2008 and I cannot install the program. Keeps coming up error

It's possible you already have an antivirus program installed. You need to uninstall it, restart then install your Norton Antivirus.

Unable to remove Antivirus 2009 from programs because it's not there by that name at least !

Use a real antivirus to remove the fake one. Either power down and mount your drive on a healthy machine that can run an antivirus scan on that drive, or just install AVG Free Edition off their site or pick one from Sourceforge directories, or perhaps VersionTracker; and let it duke it out with the curiously unbranded 'Antivirus 2009'

See, you did need a security program running.

Hi
Antivirus 2008 is an adware program - a form of virus. You should be able to get rid of it using a good antispyware program or something like norton antivirus. If you do not have a program installed I suggest you try using spyware doctor:
http://www.pctools.com/spyware-doctor/download/

That will help remove antivirus 2008. I also suggest you install an antivirus program if you do not already have one. I good free option is AVG antivirus:

Together these programs should help solve your problem and prevent further virus infection.

Hope this helps, good luck!

Want to open windows XP antivirus protection. Told short cut can't be found. How do I fix this?

Hello,

There is no antivirus protection included in Windows, you would need to purchase and install an antivirus program. If your computer was purchased recently it may have come with a trial version of anti virus software, and if that is the case you would be able to find the program to open under the Programs list in the Start menu.

IF your PC has an exsting antivirus program this may be blocking the installation try disable this program then try it again some antivirus programs are designed to prevent installations. Though it may cost you a better protection for any PC is a licensed antivirus program.
