Question about Fujitsu Heating & Cooling
The unit is a Fujitsu AST17RSA-W split system installed in 1997. When I turn the unit off with the remote control, the unit appears to turn off, and the heating stops, but the compressor motor keeps running. I can hear it whirring softly. When I came home yesterday the bottom vent was covered in water drops. This was after it was run on heating in the morning for a few hours. I had to turn it off at the wall to stop the motor running, and then the unit gave a big "sigh". Is there a way to reset the unit myself? Thanks.
Make sure you are not just turning off the fan even though indoor fan is off when temperature is not met compressor will still run thinking unit is still calling .
Since it's a old system it might wire differently for newer model .If there is also a wall thermostat for this unit try shutting it off from wall thermostat and see what happens.
That sigh sound is the reversing valve so that's normal.

Sounds like the contactor/relay for the compressor is stuck closed. I haven't got a circuit diagram but if you're lucky you may be able to just change the relay. If it's part of an integrated circuit board you will probably be out of luck as this is a very old model and I doubt that many parts are available.

Check the disconnect switch and make sure that both the fuses are good and not shot. If one is shot then the system wont work. There are two fuse. Also be careful due to you will be working around 210 volts

The best way to clear the drain line is by using a shop vac and sucking out the blockage and the water. This will make sure all the goop in there comes out. Let me know if you need anything else.

According to the service manual page 8, the unit has an 'indoor unit control error'. Below is the link to the manual. Hope this helps. http://www.oceanairdist.co.uk/assets/pdf/service/Fujitsu/ASYA09LC.pdf
