My HP 6715s works fine but wont charge? Hi, could somebody please help, the laptop works fine when i charge the battery in my sons (same model laptop) then put the batt back in mine, its not that battery as i have used 4 different ones, same as the charger i have tried 2 that work. This all happened when i tried conecting the laptop to my incar charger. Is there a fuse inside the laptop that i have blown? Also if i use a docking station will that work where a charger wont as the power goes from the station in to the laptop from a different connection. Please help thanks Meurig

Hi there
this is just a wild guess but i think that is you ac conector that is fry there is not fuses for that so the only option is to take it to a local repair guy an get it replace. depending where you are may run from $50 to $150 the repair since they have to take apart the laptop to change it the part is no more than $ 15 but labor is the costly here so maybe the docking station will be the best in your case .

Hp 6715s laptop battery charging bat battery backup not starting problem solyution

If I understand you correctly, you are saying the computer will run with the AC adapter plugged in, but will not start on battery power even though the battery appears to be charged. Most likely the battery is defective. If it won't run on battery power with a known good battery, then there is a problem in the power control circuit on the main logic board inside the computer.

My laptop hp compaq 6715s, the battery is charging good, but charging only when the device is off,in other words the device work only on the battery which can`t charge when the power on .when i remove te...

what is a device? did you mean PC, a collections of devices and chips:? a PC Is not a DEVICE it is a system.(or machine)
why in the world not buy a new battery first? if charging fails.

mine sometimes go bad even 1 year old, when I abuse it. and
I fully expect that, if you read the battery makers pages, youd learn how that happens' (cycling the snarf out of it)
if i remove the word DEVICE and add LAPTOP OR PC

IF the Pc does not run with the battery (main big) out !
the power pack is bad. the PC will run forever on AC power, a fact, !!! I do so all the time,
or even the wrong AC pack used, (mixed up with other pc:)
get a new pack, get one matching your systems, needs (watts)
the laptops can come with 5 processor options and 4 graphic chip options, the worse mix is 100watts, HP will tell you that match.
but only if YOU tell your full service tag data....
that magic, nnnnnnnABA# number tells the HP pro what is inside this laptop and what power park is right
or just buy the 19v, 100watt pack.

here is real HP, fixya is NOT.
they can match you up as can the hp PARTS SURFER,

My HP Pavilion is not switching on, and I have opened it from the back. Please help to make the machine to switch on.

Hi, Try this it might work... connection your battery charger to the PC and make sure to plugin to a known working wall electrical outlet, check if the plug of the charger connector to laptop is not loose. Wait 5 minutes and turn on the laptop. If this did not turn on look for somebody that have multimeter to check if your charger is working or look for another hp laptop that have the same charger of yours connect it to see if the charge is working.. or you may use the other charger to your laptop. HP have a known problem for a motherboard failure with that particular model and see if you are cover with warranty. I hope this info might help you to solve your laptop problem... Have a Happy New Year... HRH

Compaq HP 6715s Laptop not charging!

If you can determine that it is not the battery just going bad, then most likely it is a problem with the motherboard. I actually have this same problem, and have not been able to find a quick fix.

HP has a battery tester tool. If you are able to use this, then you are one step ahead of where my HP laptop is. I tried running this and it insisted that I did not have a battery installed, or that it was dead. If you have this same problem, then it looks like it might be time for a new motherboard.

In anycase, it might also be worth the time to try draining the battery completely and attempting to charge it back up. According to a few other sources, the laptop can sometimes get confused and think that a full battery is calibrated to be a low battery.

It's the motherboard for sure. Did they say whether or not your model was under warranty.

Laptop wont connect to power supply

Sorry to say it, but the charging port in your laptop may be loose. The "loose" feeling that is often described is because one solder joint comes loose, so by moving it around it will reconnect. Unfortunately, doing this also causes the other joints to come loose, and they will eventually break off too. If (and ONLY if) you have experience soldering with electronics, you can open the case of the laptop, and attempt to resolder the port back onto the motherboard. Even if this does work, however, the solder that is generally available to consumers is a lot weaker than commercial grade solder, so the joint will be weaker than it was before.

The better solution would be to find somebody with experience with this, preferably a friend that won't charge you, or take it into a shop to get fixed. Make sure you get a price estimate, though, as this can be a fairly time consuming process.
