Hello and Welcome to FixYa!

Here is the info that will help you out understanding the problem and solution the problem...

A refrigerator or freezer that is cooling, but cooling poorly, may have a problem in one of several areas:
Evaporator coils
Condenser
Poor cooling is often the result of a heavy frost build-up on the evaporator coils or a condenser that is clogged with dust, lint, and dirt.
Evaporator coils
Poor cooling is often the result of a heavy frost build-up on the evaporator coils. You can't see these coils without removing a panel on the inside of your freezer. A sure sign that there is a build-up is the presence of any frost or ice build-up on the inside walls, floor, or ceiling of the freezer. Such a frost build-up usually indicates a problem in the self-defrosting system or damaged door gaskets.
The refrigerator is supposed to self-defrost approximately four times in every 24 hour period. If one of the components in the self-defrosting system fails, the refrigerator continues to try to cool. Eventually, though, so much frost builds up on the evaporator coils that the circulating fan can't draw air over the coils. There may still be a small amount of cooling because the coils are icy, but with no air flow over the coils, cooling in the refrigerator compartment is quite limited.
Here's an inexpensive, though inconvenient, way to determine if the problem is with the self-defrosting system. Remove all of the perishable food from the refrigerator and freezer, turn the thermostat in the refrigerator to Off, and leave the doors open for 24 to 48 hours. (Be sure to have several towels ready in case the melting frost and ice causes the drip pan to overflow). This allows the refrigerator to defrost "manually." When the frost and ice build-up has completely melted away, turn the thermostat back to a normal setting. If the refrigerator then cools properly, it indicates a problem with one of three components in the self-defrosting system:
The defrost timer
The defrost thermostat (also called the bi-metal switch)
The defrost heater
If it still does not cool properly, there may be a problem with the refrigerant level or the compressor.
Condenser
Self-defrosting refrigerators all have a set of coils and a cooling fan, usually under the refrigerator, that need to be cleaned regularly. If these coils get coated with dust, dirt or lint, the refrigerator may not cool properly. The coils may appear to be a thin, black, wide radiator-like device behind the lower kick-panel. To clean them, disconnect the power source, use a refrigerator condenser brush and your vacuum cleaner to clean the coils...
Hope this will clear the picture, a bit,

Please DO RATE the solution, if you think this helps you,

Concerned.

    Ok! I see! The Pad is not working...This happens due to one of the following Reasons;

    • Failed Power Board.

    • Failed Control Board.

    • Faulty Harness to the LCD/touch pad unit.

    • Faulty LCD/touch pad unit.

In order to trouble shoot the problem, all the above quoted possibilities needs to be checked One by one accordingly to the quoted arrangement.... In most cases the Power Board PCB or the Control board PCB are the bottle neck of the trouble...

Control panel on front stops working, only freezer lights are lit, freezer and fridge stop cooling.

when half of the display goes out, it is giving you an error code telling you what is wrong with the fridge.Unplugging it simply resets the computer until the error comes back typically within a few hours.

without knowing what is lit up, it is difficult to help you so I would recommend putting the error code "which bars are lit up" in a comment so we can diagnose further

My KitchenAid KBRS22K bottom mount refrigerator is eight years old. Was working fine, but now the refrigerator does not cool, but the freezer stays cold. The fan seems to work and the coils have been...

the problem here is the defrost element is not coming on, the problem is the control board in the fresh food compartment is defective and not telling the element to defrost. Therefore your cooling coils are impacted with ice which keeps freezer cold, and sensor in freezer says everything is ok and therefore sends nothing to refrigerator. Replace the defrost control board, Thaw out the cooling coils in freezer, and your back in business

Refrigerator/freezer not staying cool

First, I think it’s important to know that the Ref side has no cooling coils, it’s basically a box and the cold air in the freezer is blown over by a fan through a channel into the Ref side. This channel has a door which regulates how much cold air goes through. You probably have two control knobs in the Ref side, one controls the temp with numbers 1-9, 9 being the coldest. This temp control tells the compressor how long to run. The other control is for that little door and it may have letters A-E, E being the coldest. If you set it on E (coldest) then this will close that little door and keep most the cold air in the freezer.

Now, why is that cold air not getting over to the Ref side?
1. The little door is not open.
check your control setting. You should be able to feel air coming through the channel on the Ref side.

2. The fan in the freezer is not working.
You can hear this fan running when you open the freezer.

3. The coils on the freezer side are clogged with ice which won't let the fan circulate the air over to the Ref side.
This is a failure of the defrost system.

If there is no frost on the freezer side it may be low on coolant.
