Question about Canon imageRUNNER C3380i Color Copier

The copier (canon c3380i) is restricting the print jobs from being printed. The copier log file lists the print job results as "NG" and the error code #865 is displayed in the details readout. The print jobs do not have ID's and I've selected to allow printer jobs with unknown ID's. It still will not print them. How do I fix this?

    I turned off the machine, unplugged it, turned it back on and tried to send a print job to it. It does the same thing. Additionally, when I send the job to the machine it mechaniclaly adjusts like it is going to print but then does nothing so, I know it is receiving the job. It just won't print it.

    I have all the manuals I need and more! There is something that I need to configure within the machine to make it accept the print jobs. I just don't know what it is. Come on, you experts out there! Give me a hand!

Hi

The issue you are facing is a due to connectivity problem between the printer and the computer. If it is connected via a server then please check the connectivity between the server and the printer else check the connectivity between the printer and the computer. If the connectivity is fine then please uninstall the drivers for the Canon c3380i and reinstall them after restarting the computer. You can download the drivers from this link---

Also try clearing the memory of the canon c3380i machine from settings menu on machine's display. Please post back for any further assistance. If you are satisfied please do accept the solution.

    Thanks, Daniel, but that did not fix the problem. I figued it out myself. The printer was, indeed, restricting the jobs from being printed. I found the answer to the problem in the manual. For some reason the machine was selected to not print any jobs coming from an outside device. As the system adminstrator, I had to select an "Off" option which fixed the problem.

    Hi Villageprint,

    We put a new mac running os 10.6.5 and the latest canon irc 3380 ps-us driver on and I am having the exact same problem as you describe above. I have looked in the printer's control panel for the setting that you mention above but cannot find anything corresponding to turn "off". Can you specifiy the setting that you toggled off? I would really appreciate it...I've been playing with the problem for a week and searching the internet and this is the first post that I've found where someone has actually solved their problem

There was no documentation anywhere on Google.com for error code #865 regarding the c3380i by Canon.

I would call 1-800-OK-CANON about this problem if the above links don't help.

Hi. Have you tried resetting your machine? Turn it off first, then unplug the power cable. After a few minutes, try to turn it on. Be sure that you cancel out all jobs to be printed. If your unit still wont work and it is still within 1 year warranty, try to call 800-423-2366 for Canon Automated support or 757-413-2848 to speak to a Canon Technician.

'check paper size' error has come up and nothing can now be printed. If turned off and on the last print which had caused the error prints out then the error message appears again. How can i clear this


This is usually caused by data within the print job. Microsoft Office sends paper size and job data with each job. Clear all print jobs in the computer sending the job.(Start/Printers/double click the canon printer and delete all jobs in the print que. Clear the Canon by off/on. Open a program and print a standard letter size document to test. This can be corrected by going to the page/document setup choices under "File" or the Ball in MS Office. Usually this is set to A4 or Bypass by mistake within the application.

We are printing 2 sided agendas which contain 44 pages each. The print from the first side is showing through on the second side. How can we fix this problem?


ia the paper you are using heavy or velum textured some papers with a textured surfaces are not compatible with copiers..the fuser section cannot heat the toner in the texture enough for it to adhere to page. check the same print job with normal paper and compare results..

Canon iR3235 will not print over the network. I can ping


Reboot the printer. ANd also try re-mapping the printer from your system.

Printing Acrobat 9 pdf file to the Imagerunner 7200


In acrobat go file, print and press advanced. Check print as image. Print the job again and see if you get different results. This does the image processing on the PC. Your document may have a postscript error in it and your device may be set not to print PS errors.

What driver language and version are you using?

Try updating your driver to the newest version, get device status.

You may also wish to try PCL printing for that file. (as a workaround)

Do other files have the same problem? What about when sent to another printer entirely?

Unable to send scanned document


What error code are you getting? Try to scan again and let it fail. Press system monitor, scan, log. Look for jobs with Result of NG. Highlight one and press details. At the top, look for Result: NG (####). It will display an error number there. What is that error number?

751 cannot connect to server
7xx cannot connect ...
8xx could connect, but error...
801 bad user/pw or firewall
802 user/permissions
899 unknown if successful, may be normal

Check additional functions, system settings, network settings, email/ifax settings. Check SMTP server IP and authentication / encryption.

Ignore POP or recieve options as they are for IFAX.

The answer to our problem ended up being a firmware upgrade to the Canon iR7095. I would look into that as your possible solution.

Canon IR C3100n copier "NG 853" error


I had a similar problem with my MF6540. I could access the remote UI and see that the printer was recieving information via the print log. It would list all of my test pages that I tried to print but in the print results column I would get an error code NG(##5536) and the printer would not actually print anything. I tried the UFRII driver stated above and everything seems to be working now.
