Usually that is an indication that the freon has leaked out. If fairly warm air is not coming out of the outside unit..it time to refill and check for leaks.

Ac model # 42sd6b er-05 code meaning

Are you trying to run your cooling now? I'm guessing you have a carrier thermostat and that's where this is displaying. It's been awhile since I've came across one but to my vague reculiction that code indicates the outdoor sensor detects low ambient them temperatures which in turn will not allow your air conditioner to run which would make sense this time of year. If you want to run cooling in below 60 degrees temps you must add a "low ambient kit" this shuts the fan down outside to build up higher head pressure without doing this you will just ruin your ac but in your case it won't let you. Google up your Tstats model number and codes if that's not your situation.

My condensor fan and compressor on my Carrier AC (Model# 38ckc036350) stopped working, so I replaced my capacitor and they both work fine now. The problem is my house won't cool down. There is c

Often after a repair has been made, the air conditioner will take hours to readjust back to normal. When the system has been off for to long, not only does the heat in the house rise, but so does the humidity, which has to be pulled out of the air first before it really starts dropping in temp. You could have a low charge on refrigerant, dirty filters, etc. More than once I have ran into things that were just coincidence after a repair that showed up. Since you just replaced the capacitor, I would make sure the fan motor is turning in the right direction and there is nice air flow coming out of the condenser, some times if one wire is wrong, it can cause it to spin backwards, which will work, but just barely. The air needs to be pulled through the coils, not pushed. Hope this helps!

My Carrier Home AC unit stopped blowing cold air today. I opened it up and cleaned everything and didn't notice anything out of place, any ideas?

This could be complicated to resolve over the internet but I'll give it a try. When you stated that it stoped blowing cold air, did it stop blowing air all together? Also is the outside unit rtunning?

Carrier home ac system

sounds like your contactor is stuck closed. This is the part that high voltage connects to and lets power through to the compressor and condenser fan motor when you get a call for cooling. If you go to pull it out, kill the power outside AND at the furnace.

Compressor not doing much

I am assuming that you are talking about a central ac unit. On a central air unit the outside fan must be running whenever the compressor is. If it's not the compressor will shut off from overheating withing minutes. First you need to shut off the unit for several hours and let it cool completely down. Then turn it on briefly to see if the compressor starts and see if the fan tries to start.( I am assuming the compressor starts and runs.) If the fan won't start try testing the capacitors. There are usually two one for the fan one for the compressor. Sometimes there will be one combo one. Mark the wires and remove the capacitor. Get it tested and if bad replace it. This will probably do the job. If not test for current at the fan motor. Also test to see if it turns freely. The motor may need to be replaced. This will run about $50. The capacitor should always be replaced when the motor is changed anyway.
