That's called your secondary and it a feedback you're hearing probably because the HOT is shorted... Unplg the unit and do a continuity test on the horizontal output transistor - in particular E to B and if you get infinity that's your trouble.

    Using a dmm (digital multi-meter) or analog multi-meter set it for continuity. That meand when both probes are touching you get an infinity reading. Then touch each probe, one to the "E"lectrode and one to the "B"ase of the HOT and if it reads infinity BINGO bad Ic...

TV making loud buzzing sound

More sets than you might imagine have this kind of problem---I a regular TV it is usually a transformer that is vibrating hard enough to make the sound---the higher pitched sound is just that--a sound.

If this is a direct view(means not a flatscreen and has a Glass Picture tube it will be either the high voltage transformer or one of several smaller transformers.

This can usually be fixed---seen a few so loud the cats in the house run away.

Let me know model number of set for more information.

On chance it has the high voltage transformer I attach a photo of what that looks like.

A loud buzzing is coming from the back of my sanyo ds 25390 tv. picture and regular sound is fine

If it is a high pitched whine or buzz it is likely a transformer vibrating so hard it is making the noise.

There are ways to try to deal with this issue but the set has to be opened and probed to locate where it is coming from--

for example with back off and set on a plastic rod can be used to touch areas and exert slight pressure until the sound changes or goes away--then either replace the part or I have used hot glue etc to stop it.

You first have to locate the source of the issue:

find where it is coming from.

Picture and sound go after a while will come back after switching to standby Or the old fashion Bang on the top. Also a Loud buzzing sound in Standby.

U have tools like a soldering iron,a roll solders,also can u do basic soldering?Yes.This tv have cold solders joints in the(CRT-Tv tube) video board connections pins socket that connected to the(CRT-Tv tube).The tv loud buzzing sound is comming from the FBT-the flyback transformer,that is a big black block of plastic with a red wire with a cap that hook to the(CRT-Tv tube).Resolders both the FBT and the video board CRT socket holes connections.Will solved these 2 problems.

Quasar 1989 tv makes a buzzing motor sound

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, if you have confirmed that the source of the buzzing sound is from inside the TV, then that would indicate a component about to fail or would need attention. Let us try process of elimination:
  • tuner - most unlikely, the tuner is responsible for selecting the channel. No component/part of the tuner could make such a mechanical buzzing sound;
  • speaker(s) - most unlikely, the speaker could have a buzz but generally would not affect the video nor cause snow (weak TV signals);
  • transformer - a strong possibility although without knowing the exact model, at most generic ideas; power transformer, flyback transformer, horizontal drive transformer (unlikely);
  • arcing - another strong possibility. This could be caused by damp, dusty surroundings of the components especially at the FBT area. Another area that could have adverse effect when dusty/damp would be the anode cap.
This of course would require a fair familiarity of electronic components/circuitry and safety procedures, use of a DVM and a soldering iron. It would be to your added advantage access to a service manual or at the very least a schematic diagram with voltage readings. Should you be uncomfortable performing a DIY (do-it-yourself), perhaps your best bet would then be to seek the services of a qualified professional.

Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

TV Making a Loud Noise

this can happen with the flyback transformer's brightness which can be adjusted , also the power transformer can make humming or buzzing sounds which can't be adjusted , also this can happen with the picture tube or the CRT board failing , and sometimes chips with heat sinks or the IC's themselfs

Buzzing/Fizzing noise at the back of TV.

Sounds like arcing from the high voltage transformer. i don't not recommend using it until you have it looked at.

Weird noise over everything

According to the Samsung website: "The high pitched sound you hear is probably coming from the flyback transformer. The flyback transformer converts the relatively low voltage electricity that comes from the outlet in your home to the high voltage electricity needed to drive the cathode ray tube in your TV. It is not unusual for a flyback transformer to buzz softly when it operates. However, if the sound is loud and high pitched, it probably means the transformer is failing. To eliminate the sound, you will have to get your TV serviced."

32 RCA makes popping sounds

It needs a new FLY BACK transformer. That is what you are looking at. The origionals are not made for the set any longer but insist on having a generic on installed by a local TV shop. I just put one into a RCA 31" and it works nice. Don't throw away the TV. Get it fixed. MAKE SURE YOU INSIST THEY USE THE GENERIC ONE! THEY DO WORK!

Buzzing after 1 hour

Is the buzzing coming from the back of the TV, staying loud even when the volume is turned all the way down, or is it coming from the speakers?
