Do you mean x^2 (x-squared)? That's to the left of the "7" key.

The change-sign key is marked "(-)" and is to the right of the decimal point key.

My fn key wont work on toshiba sattelite pro

FN (Function Key) that is usually located near the bottom left on the keyboard is not a key that you press by itself to do anything. The FN key works in combination with the (F1 thru F12) and any other key that has the same symbol or color as the FN Key. You have to Press and HOLD the FN key while pressing another key.

If the FN key is Blue and for example your F8 key has a (white F8 on it and a Blue battery icon on it) then to see your battery metor (how much charge it has left) you would Press the FN and hold it then press the F8 key. The F8 that is white does not require you to press the Blue FN.

Sometimes the FN key might have a white square on it, then the keys that work with the FN key will also have a symbol with a white square around it.

Okay... my Ti-89 isn't squaring numbers right. I put in -2^2 and I get -4, or I put -3^2 and I get -9 and so forth. I thought and still believe that when you square any number, despite whether it's...

Hello,
You are not using the right syntax. It has to do with priority of operations. raising a number to a power has priority over the negation sign (the change sign key). Th operations you are performing are treated as follows.
1. The square of 2 is calculated first (4),
2. then the negation (change sign) is performed, giving -4.

To get what you intend, namely the square of a negative number, you should enter the calculation as follows.
(-2)^2.
Since the parentheses have priority over everything else, the negation of 2 is calculated first, giving -2, then the power is performed next, and the result should be 4

If you need convincing, here is a screen capture.

Hope it helps.

Bios password

here are the instructions

-Remove the hard drive.
-Remove the keyboard.
-Disconnect the reserve battery cable from the system board connector.
-Pry the reserve battery free from the system board. The reserve battery is attached to the system board with a piece of adhesive tape.
-Remove any remnants of the adhesive tape from the EMI shield.

Step 2
Make sure all power is off/disconnected and batteries removed before attempting anything like changing parts
in HP > Compaq nx6310 is in a easy to get-to location, but changing it is a pain. Remove your main battery, you'll see a small square of silver plastic in the middle of the compartment. The CMOS battery is underneath of this square.
The battery's connector is on the mainboard, just below the area of the "ALT" key. Unfortunatly, you have to dissasemble the laptop to change it.
