Disc play

posted by lauralan on Apr 24, 2008

Played well last year when purchased and taken inside for winter where it was not used. Took it out this year and inserted CD. Indicated "reading" made a scratching sound or two and then indicated "no disc". Tried various CD's, new and old including a cleaner disk and the same thing.

Disk turntable motors will collect tarnish on armature contacts if not used for long periods. If you are experienced in electronics, I could walk you through a fix. If you are not, please take unit for service
