You will need a Trinocular head and a digital microscopy camera. Contact Leica at their website. A Google search will get you well on your way.

Trinocular is the preferable way, but on most compound eyepieces it inside diameter of the eyepiece is the same as what a trinocular port would be, therefore you can technically utilize one of your eyepiece ports to capture images. Email nikoninstruments(at)nikon(dot)net with some pictures of your microscope and I'll see if we can ID it. Make sure the pics are bright enough and in focus and at a wide enough angle to get a good look at it. Nikon Instruments Microscopes and Imaging Systems

Qx5 microscope is shutting down.

Does this device run from USB power.. (no plug in power supply) if so, the problem may just be that this device (not limited to microscopes) is trying to draw too much power, as not all USB ports are born equal (a common problem in laptops). the solution is to either buy a power supply for the microscope or get a "powered" USB hub (a usb hub with it's own plug top power supply) I hope this helps

Qx5 is not responding

the microscope may be trying to draw too much current from your USB ports, your computer will disable the device if it does this. When this happens one of the easiest (and cheapest) solutions is to acquire a Powered USB Hub (with it's own Plug top power supply). This should aleviate any extraneous current draw to the Power supply.
