TV power light will come on but, while something I assume is warming up the T.V. will shut off. Then it will try again but, same thing when screen is suppose to start it turns back off. Any suggestions?

when i press the power botton the light flashes 3 times and the tv never comes on
its a 52"RCA HDTV bought in 2004 from walmart

I'm having the same problem. I'm replacing the fuse to fix the convergence and now the TV just turns on and off over and over

Here is what I found on my set: The capacitor near the H out was loose of one of its ends,resoldered and it comeback to a normal function. I hope it helps.

This problem is definately caused by the transisitor and unless you know where it is located, need to have a technician fix it. The tv shop we normally use told me the transistor RCA 259856 wasn't in stock and it would take two weeks. I google searched for the generic # of the transistor #17N80C3. Digikey had them in stock and I had it shipped to the shop. I had my tv in 3 days instead of two weeks.
