Question about Canon CP 200 Thermal Printer

Open Question

I have a CP-200 photo printer and the paper is jammed. I tried to pull it out but it ripped and now there is a small piece that is stuck with no ends to pull. I've tried with a pair of tweezers but no luck. I think I need to take something apart.

SOURCE: 'Paper jam msg' when there's nothing stuck in there...???

Cannon ip1600 will dislodge a plastic gear below the paper feed area on the right side if you manually pull a sheet of paper from it with out following the power on/off procedure to clear a paper jam. I have fixed these before. The paper sensor is almost never at fault. You have to remove the top cover and the screws holding the carriage then the screws holding the feed mechanism to snap the gears back in place. The printer can be tested with the cover off and works perfectly every time. Just beware this is the expended ink area. I wash out all the old ink with a water hose before disassembly.

Paper feed jams on right hand side after I pulled bits of an A4 that came out ripped

You did not get all the pieces of that A4 paper out of the paper path. There is still a small shard of paper in the right side of the paper feed area. Use a flashlight to look carefully in the paper feed area and gently use tweezers to remove the piece of paper. If you pulled the sheet of A4 paper backwards out of the feed area, you may have dislodged the paper feed sensor (a small plastic finger that sticks down in the paper path to tell the printer that the paper has passed.) Be careful with the tweezers... if you break that sensor, there is no fixing it.

The machine keeps saying paper jam, there is no paper in there. I do not know how to clear it. I've pressed cancel numerous times.

Most likely there is a small piece of paper still stuck in the path somewhere. This happens often when you remove a jammed sheet. Sometimes a piece of it will rip off and remain stuck in the path. Try looking closely

Feed paper is pulled into the right side of printer (facing Printer) and jams. Cleaning no help.Canon Pixma MP600.

I had the same problem, tried and failed with all maintenance tasks including cleaning all rubber rollers and belts, manually turning the rollers and belt, only succeeded in forcing out some small paper debris, but still jamming.Googled for answers, even looking at a technician service manual post by,none have provide a tried and succeeded answer, even the paid answers by experts were suggesting the rollers needed to be replaced due to wear and tear, but we are only light duty user,it is unlikely.Next thing you know $3 a question,20 questions later, you are out $60 and still end up with a broken printer . I finally used thick heavy photo papers to test print as they are unlikely to rip and tear when jammed, the first time it made a very loud and very loud grinding noise,I cancelled the printing immediately and slowly and firmly pulled the photo paper out from the front ejecting compartment,a small piece of what looked like a spiral bounded calender type paper came out with the pulling.Tried again with photo paper for printing, this time it made the same loud noise again, stopped print immediately, thought I f-cked up,while carefully and firmly pulling the photo paper ,a small piece of Styrofoam came out. After that every printing test for front paper loader and the front bottom cassette loader work flawlessly with plain paper.I realized that the front loading feeder tray iwas the entrance culprit of these small shits that got inside without any body's knowing.Taped the front feeder tray close, use only the bottom cassette feeder as it is completely enclosed, nothing will get in there.Because a lot of people put things on top of the printer cover when not in use,**** got in there accidentally and stupidly.Hope this will help, saved myself a lot of money and time in setting up new printer to the local and wireless network,I am not a techno guy.Try at your own risk,I had nothing to lose, thought I had to buy a new printer, now the printer is working like new, smooth, quite and fast.

It always says paper jam and it has no paper jam

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
  3. Also open the back cover of the printer if this model has one.
  4. Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
  5. If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it away from light/ sun light to avoid damaging it.
  6. If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
  7. If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper. Don't force anything, though. Do this step especially if the jam message comes up repeatedly without any obvious paper jam, there may be a small tear of paper inside.
  8. Ones the printer is free of paper Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.
  9. If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
  10. see alternative if the problem is still not solved.

alternative :
Load a piece of thick paper, for example photo paper and press the resume button (may be diffrent button on diffrent models) a few times to the printer picks up the paper and puts it through the machine.

if the problem remains, some of the sensor / switches might have become stuck or are out of place, or there is still a small piece of paper or something else inside the machine and its coming up as a paper jam.

The machine would need to be taken apart and cleaned to solve the issue.

Where can I take my Stylus Photo RX500 for repair? The paper feeder eats the paper on one side.

you probably have a tiny tiny piece jammed in the roller on that side. sometimes it gets stuck inside and you cant see it. take it apart and use tweezers to pull it out. usually its a small piece similiar to the leftover junk you get when you rip out a page from a ring notebook.

Printer shows a paper jam when there does not appear to be one

Often, even after you have removed the paper jam, one of the sensors can still report a "Paper Jam". These sensors look like small plastic "fingers" that project along paper path. More sophisticated printers may have an "electric eye" mechanism. Sometimes when you get a bad jam, the paper has to be ripped out, and a very small piece can get caught on one of the sensors or block the electric eye type sensor. Remove the ink cartridges and shine a light into the machine and look for small pieces of paper stuck inside, and gently remove them. If one of the sensor fingers is bent or jammed, it can cause the same problem. See if any of these are stuck and gently free them. Take care, since they break off very easily. They may also break off if you forcibly pull out a jammed paper. If one of the sensors is broken, then you are out of luck, and will need to buy a new printer. you can also try vaccuming insides with one of those flat nozzles connnected to a regular vaccum cleaner.

Paper stuck in brother printer

Which model printer.
Some printers have levers to disengage the traction to enable gently removing the jammed paper.
If you cannot remove it easily and it happens to rip try a trick I learned at a printing company: Re-construct the paper like a puzzle and dont stop looking for small pieces of ripped paper untill the puzzle is complete.
Good Luck.
