How do you download songs and sycronise ipod nano 2nd generation to computer 2nd hand ipod no instruction

1. Double-click on the "iTunes" icon to open the program and then transfer all of your music files into iTunes. To add music from CDs, simply load a CD into your computer's drive, wait for iTunes to see the playlist and then click "Import." To add music from another program,
go to the "File" menu and select "Add to Library." You will then be able to click on any music files you would like to transfer.
2. Plug your iPod into a USB port on your computer and wait for iTunes to automatically recognize the device. You will be asked to name and register your iPod, after which you can click "Finish" and begin to load music.
3. Click on "Library," found in the left hand column to reveal all of the music you have transfered to iTunes. To load songs onto your iPod, highlight one or more songs and then drag them to your iPod. Your iPod will be found in the same column where you found the library, under the name you chose earlier. As soon as you drop the files into your iPod, they will quickly copy.
4. Eject your iPod once you have loaded all of the music you'd like by clicking on the arrow next to your iPod's name. When the name disappears, you can remove the USB cable and begin enjoying your portable music.

I need to erase songs/albums on my iRiver iFP-790 player, but don't know how to do it (and have long since lost any kind of manual describing how to do this). How do I erase files?

Hi..

To erase the songs in your ipod there is two options:
  1. First you can delete id directly from your ipod.
  2. You can delete it using your computer, plug your ipod to your computer. Once your ipod detected you can open the songs folder. Simply right click and delete the songs.
Good luck

I have an ipod nano 2nd generation. i plug it into the computer and itunes comes up. i had like 392 songs on it and it just deleted when i plugged it in. now i cant even get songs to go on it.

You will need to reset your iPod to factory settings. Plug in your iPod and when iTunes launches, click on the icon for your Nano. There will be a button there saying "Restore iPod to Orginal Settings". Click it and iTunes will automatically do what is necessary. After that completes, you should be able to move songs onto it again.

I have lost my instructions and don't know how to set my ipod up and it says to use itunes but i don't know how can you help?

Hey :), id be happy to help. First before you begin you must install Itunes on your Mac or Pc, To do this you must go to this link to get the installer for Itunes
http://www.apple.com/itunes/overview/

Ok, once you have installed Itunes on your computer ( and its up and running ), you must  now plug in you Ipod to your computer ( with the usb cord that came with your Ipod ). Now once  you have your Ipod plugged in and you have Itunes opened , your Ipod will show up in the side bar of Itunes and a window will pop up asking for info like, what would you like to call your Ipod and etc. . Now after its done with setting up your Ipod, Itunes will automatically sync ( send ) the  music/videos and etc, you have in your Itunes library to your Ipod. The syncing process will occur every time you plug your ipod into your computer. Oh and to add music to your library through CD's just stick a CD inside your computer and open Itunes and the CD with show up in the side bar and on the side of the screen select rip ( ripping a CD will send the songs to your Itunes library ) . Thanks! and I really hope this helps, and Id appreciate it if you rated my solution

Get your iPod.
Connect it to your computer.
Start iTunes program.
In the source list, select your iPod.
Now click on iPod options.(On the bottom right corner of iTunes) and select Manually manage songs and playlists option.
Click ok and done!
So here' s how you remove songs form your iPod manually.
  • Connect your iPod to your computer.
  • Go to the source list and click on the icon which looks like an iPod.
  • Choose the songs you want to delete and press delete! How simple is that?!
How to remove songs from your iPod automatically. (When you iPod is set to default settings)
  • To remove songs from your iPod automatically, just delete the songs you want to from your iTunes library.
  • When the default setting is on, songs that are deleted from your iTunes Library will also be deleted from the iPod.

hope this may help;

if you've used wmp to rip and encode the cd to the wma file standard, the ipod won't play them. the ipod doesn't support wma or ogg vorbis (and doesn't support the pro part of mp3 pro) you need to encode your files to either mp3 or aac (or leave them as wav files, though these are very large) for the ipod to play them. this may be causing the mmjb transfer problems.

check out the software compendium on info on alternatives to rip, encode and transfer to the ipod.
