If you remember where it was plugged in (which USB port) plug it back in, and reboot the system. If you don't remember where it was plugged in, but hold the power button on the PC until it turns off. Plug the wireless adapter into a USB port and reboot the PC.

The microsoft wireless mouse stopped working after a power failure. I get a message that says the USB device is not there. But I cannot navigate my computer w/o the mouse

The Microsoft wireless mouse comes with a wireless receiver, right? Before you do anything, the first thing that you can try is to replace the batteries with fresh ones.

If same problem occur, try to connect the wireless receiver into different USB ports of the computer. Then check if your wireless receiver and mouse has a connect button. If it does have connect buttons, briefly press the connect button on the receiver, then hold down the connect button on the mouse for 5 seconds. Then release the connect buttons.

If you get the same problem, hold down both connect buttons (receiver and mouse) at the same time for 5 seconds.

Last, try to connect the wireless receiver into different computer. If you get the same problem, send the receiver and mouse to the manufacturer for repair.

Thank you and good luck!

Key board do not work

Right this is a wild shot but here we go....

If you are using PS/2 connectors for keyboard and mouse make sure they are the right way round
If you are usin USB m+k then amke sure you are using the BACK USB ports only and preferable the first two that are seperate.
Please let me know how you get on

I bought a Microsoft wireless key board and mouse Model 700. I have the keyboard working but the mouse won't work, what can I do?

Most wireless accessories have buttons so on them to sync one to the other. One on the mouse and one on the receiver.Try pressing these buttons at the same time. That should put you in business.

Cursor failure

Solution one:

it may be that your mouse is failing and you may need to to buy another, logitech, microsoft etc are very good mouse brands but cost around 30 - 80$. laser and wireless mouses work very well with desktop pc's. but however, if you do buy a new mouse and it does the same thing.

Solution two:

go to you mouse settings and disable "hide cursor while typing" this is a common mistake for mouse settings.

hope this helps you.
