Picture size

This is the same problem I have (the picture being cut off on the edges). On your computer, you need to change to a native display.

For instance, 1920x1080 usually cuts an inch off of all sides, but it's meant more for videos where a little cropping isn't a big deal; not general screen use.

I believe the reason this happens is because with those other resolutions, 1920x1080 for instance, they are not your laptop's "native resolution", so in order to avoid scaling and stretching the image (which would degrade quality) they show its exact size, point by point, which is bigger than the number of pixels on your TV display.

Some TVs, like mine, have a TV option called "100% scale" that forces the picture to exactly fit to the screen. But this causes stretching and distortion if the aspect ratio of your resolution and the TV's whole screen are different.

Try something like 1366x768 or 1360x768 (some have both, some have only one of those). You should be able to find one or two resolutions like this that show the entire screen with full sharp clarity. It may even look better than 1920x1080 depending on your computer; find the best one that shows sharpness.

TV showing color pixels but no picture and no sound

Well at least you didn't pay for the TV. Your panel is defective. Cheaper to buy a TV than to fix.

Picture on tv screen showing only half picture bottom of screen blackpicture only showing about 6inches at top of screen

good day sir
your problem is on the back light of your TV..the upper side is not function because the back-light lamp is busted and the lower part is good so you have to do is replace the upper side..
I teach you to do that
first, remove the cover of your TV by removing all screw at the back side then you remove the plastic cover of unit
secondly, when you see the inverter board, power supply and main board remove it
thirdly, remove the steel cover of the LCD screen to see the back light bulb or lamp
and finally, after you see the lamp replace it with a new one only the top side lamp is busted so that's the only lamp you replace
thank you

I want to connect my laptop to my LG32LE5300 television to use i player which I can do but how do I get the picture to show on full screen - it only shows on the middel of the screen. It did show on full...

this happened to me aswell what you want to do is click the start menu on your pc when it is connected to your tv then go to control panel then click printers and other hardware then in that window on the left hand side it has a small window saying SEE ALSO then click display then it will come up with the window to customize the setting then change it to the required size of your tv. Also if you want to use the tv as your monitor do all of that then drag your icons across the computer screen and they will end up on the tv hope that helps

Screen has borders when watching tv

This is common issue of the channels that use 4:3 format while TV is designed for 16:9. To get it disappear, you just go to picture option, choose WIDE FIT, this fuction will widen the picture to whole screen. Of course, you have to accept the picture is blur a bit.

Haif a screen on desktop

Try it on an external monitor. If it still has a problem, your motherboard is faulty. Buy a new one or throw the laptop away.
If it doesn't, the problem is with the TFT screen - too expensive to bother replacing it, unless you can find another to use as a donor.

Size of screen

If you have black panel os sides the picture is not HD. Not allways the HD broadcasting have HD shows. The advertising for example is not HD. Check the picture size in the tv to be "allonged" and play with the screen size with your cable box remote. Usually is # button.
From what I know LC42D62U has no TV Guide feature.
