FACEBOOK has disabled my account!! It says I am trying to impersonate someone. I'm 80 years old, disabled and this is all I have to use as an outlet!!!

You have the right of appeal. You just have to prove you are not impersonating someone. One thing you must do is use your real name and if your name is the same as someone famous, you will have to prove your name is real, by sending a photograph of ID. Your Facebook account must be in the name of Donna Marcus. If your displayed name is something like 'Donna Lilly', you can change it. You can respond to either the email or from within the App under Settings - Support Centre.

I see three Donna Lilly Marcus accounts. Two say Northeastern State University, one lives at Seneca Missouri, and has a picture of a church and bible and the other says 'from Marion Kentucky' and has 4 friends. The third is Greyed out as though it is new or recently closed.

Tip

Quick links into your facebook account security / privacy settings

Worried out your facebook account settings then here are most of the direct URL's that will allow you to change these settings you will be prompted to login to your own account.

SET USERNAMES FOR USERS AND PAGES
http://www.facebook.com/username

When you have over 25 members you can goto this link and create a vanity concatenated username for the facebook search engines, alphanumeric plus full stops only.

For Example this facebook page

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Windows-Tips-Club/134565513231284

can be renamed to either

http://www.facebook.com/Windows.Tips.Club
http://www.facebook.com/WindowsTipsClub
NOT
http://www.facebook.com/Windows-Tips-Club

Make sure that it is what you really want to do because its a one shot affair, and can only be changed to a username that has not already been taken.

NOTE this helpful facebook tip the fullstops in the username are the same as the username without so its a good idea to use the first to regsiter the page the one without the stops will be redirected to the same page.

Need to change my first name spelling

1
Open your account settings. Log in to Facebook and click the Gear icon in the top-right corner of the page. Select "Account Settings".
  • To access this on the mobile app, click the menu button in the top-left corner and scroll down to Account Settings. Select General, and then tap Name.
  • 2
Click on your name to open the name editor. You can enter a First, Middle, and Last name, as well as an Alternate name (such as a nickname or maiden name).
    • Your name can only be changed four times.
    • Facebook wants you to list your name as it appears on your credit card or ID.
    • You cannot use symbols, numbers, random capitalization, or punctuation.
    • Your middle name cannot be words or phrases.
    • Nicknames should be variations on your real name (Jim instead of James, Meg instead of Megan, etc.)[1]
  • 3
Enter your real name. Facebook does not allow you to impersonate someone else, or create a page for a fictional character. Accounts found in violation of this will be forced to change the name.
    • If you want to create an account for an organization, business, or a pet, you will need to create a Facebook Page.
  • 4
Enter your password. To change your name, you will need to enter your password into the box before you are allowed to save your changes.
  • 5
Click Save Changes. Your new name will be saved, and the change will reflect on your Profile shortly. It can take up to 24 hours for a name change to be approved

Can anyone help me and explain to me why my account has been disabled?

YOU CAN FIND IT ON THE FAQ LINK PROVIDED BY FACEBOOK-

Your account was disabled because you violated Facebooks Terms of Use, to which you agreed when you first registered for an account on the site. Accounts can either be disabled for repeat offenses or for one, particularly egregious violation. I\'ve read the Terms of Use of FaceBook before I registered for an account and after reading it for the 2nd time, I\'m pretty sure I did not violate any of them.
Facebook does not allow users to register with fake names, to impersonate any person or entity, or to falsely state or otherwise misrepresent themselves or their affiliations. I used RJ instead of Rocky John as my first name, does it count as fake? All my FaceBook friends know that I never impersonated or falsely represented any person or entity.
We do not allow users to send unsolicited or harassing messages to people they dont know, and we remove posts that advertise a product, service, website, or opportunity. Any blogger in their right mind will tell you that spamming isn\'t really a good strategy. I don\'t spam but I do promote my blog posts on my wall, which apparently is an accepted practice among FaceBookers. Some of the posts I promote on my wall contain advertisements and affiliate links. I don\'t think my account should be disabled because of this. Otherwise, a huge number of FaceBook accounts should have been disabled by now.
Our Code of Conduct outlines the types of content we do not allow on the site. This includes any obscene, ****, or sexually explicit photos, as well as any photos that depict graphic violence. We also remove content, photo or written, that threatens, intimidates, harasses, or brings unwanted attention or embarrassment to an individual or group of people. I checked FaceBook\'s Code of Conduct and so far, the closest I get to ever violating it was posting a half-naked pic of myself. Anyone who saw my pic will tell you that it didn\'t depict violence, obscenity or ****!

How do you find out if someone is impersonating on facebook

Ask the impersonator a question that only the "real" person can answer. Telephone the "real" person, and ask them for their FaceBook ID, and compare that to the ID being used by the impersonator.
