Since CB radios have fallen out of fashion in favor of cell phones, there are not many places to get repairs. You might go online and see if there is a service in your area -- good luck

How fix talkback in magnum delta force

you need to check the audio path from the chatback board to the audio circuit

usually the audio out the board will go to the center connection
on the volume control
sometimes people use a resistor to attenumate it to a level
or a T pad
and connect it to the left side {audio out to amp}
so a volume control works like this

left center right
ground audio into control audio to amp

so usually the center is used as the volume will track up as your sets volume is increased

so simply connect the audio out from the chatback
to the right audio to amp section

on the chatbacks ive made and installed in the past
had a small pot on the board
this allows the volume from it too be increased

so look for this first

if you cant find it you can make one up like this

100K log pot 3 pin

1 2 3
L M R {left middle right}

1= ground
2= audio from chatback
3= audio to the right right audio to amp on the cb's volume control

then no matter what level the actual audio from the set is set too
the chatback can be set to a standard level for all

hope this helps you

i used too build chatbacks for the rnid year back and fit them free

No sound uniden cb radio pro501xl

make sure the RF GAIN is wide open and the squelch is turned all the way to the left . Make sure its on CB not PA ,now turn the radio on and you should at least hear something. If not ,take it to a tech and have them adjust the receive .

How can i turn down my talk back its too loud

If it was an aftermarket install there may not have been a volume control put on it. Some times not even an on-off switch. To ad a volume control locate the jumper between the External and PA speaker. You can get a volume control at Radio Shack. Locate an area inside the rear panel that will allow the installing of the volume control. Cut the jumper wire and slide shrink tube on wires. Solder a length of wire on each end and solder the other ends to the volume control. You can use bell wire for this purpose or get wire at Radio Shack.

CB receive volume is low to out on the output. Weatherband output and reception is fine. Any suggestions?

The problem could be with the mic. If there is a problem with the mic it will make either the receive not work, or the volume seem real low. The weather will work fine if the mic is bad.

Unplug it,and remove the cover. Hook it back up and turn it on. Take a pencil with the eraser end and gently press around where the volume is soldered in the circuit.Wiggle the volume knob,listen if volume change. Sounds like a cold solder joint.Re- solder the joints to volume,or could be a dirty control, if still no volume, turn off and spray inside of volume tuner with contact cleaner. hope this helps..

Harmon/Karden 2006 Radio/CB/CD Passanger control does not work

The passenger controls on the rear speakers are pretty easy to diagnose.  The wire for Volume up is Pink/white, the volume down is gray/white.  If the Pink/white wire is shorted to ground somewhere, then as soon as you turn on the radio, it will be like having the volume selector pushed up, and it makes sense how you describe it goes to mute and then returns to full volume as soon as you let go.   You don't say what model it is (I doubt it's a Road Glide, gotta be an Ultra), so it's not too hard to get at.  Pull the outer fairing and look on the back of the HK Radio.  There are 2 big connectors, when looking from the front you want the connector on the right.  Pin 23 is down volume, pin 34 is up volume for the rear controls ONLY.  So I would check the continuity to ground at pin 34 first, in other words pull the connector off the back of the radio, take a test lead and hook one end to +12v. Touch the tip to any grounded metal and it should light.  Now touch the tip to pin 34 on the harness side of the connector.  If the test light lights up, you have a short to ground on the pink/white wire.  Now go to the right rear speaker on the tour-pak and disconnect the 6 pin connector and try the test again.  The pink/white goes from pin 34 on the radio and runs through the harness to the passenger controls and nowhere else.  It shouldn't be grounded anywhere.  Let me know what you find out.
