I try new batteries and the red light may come on but not the green; the lens does not come out. A small plastic clip on the battery cover seems missing and the cover does not fit tight.

I have the same problem. The battery compartment cover is fits right but no matter how new the battery or what type of battery the camera actsl like they are dead. Bob

Had the same problem, just read this and made me feel better. I am way past the warranty, but this has happened since I got the camera. I blamed it on the batteries and charger the first year. Just think I figured something out, I elevated the metal contacts on the outside door, by wedging paper under them, then tried the exact batteries that would work. IT WORKED! I believe it's a design issue, as most people would just buy another camera, rather then put up with this.

The camera is probably defective. Warranty?!?

Unless you have put the batteries in wrong or not used fresh ones!

I just read this post about elevating the metal contacts on the outside door with paper & it worked like a charm. Thanks so much for the tip! We just got this camera for Christmas (hand me down) & don't have the money to replace it so very thankful for the advice!

Put in new batteries. It will turn on and then stay on for about 1 second and then goes black. Help. I have the kodak easy share c183

Depending of what you use, always be sure all batteries are the same, charged and suited for your camera. Most of the time even new Ni-CD rechargeable batteries won't work, because the voltage is to low, according to Ni-MH or alkaline batteries.
Do not use alkaline batteries unless it is absolutely necessary. In some cases, alkaline batteries may have a shorter service life than NiMH. Alkaline battery performance is limited, especially at low temperatures. The use of NiMH batteries is recommended.
Never use manganese (Zinc-Carbon) batteries in your camera.

My Kodak easy share is 5 yrs old. can I charge it without the printer dock as I want to take it overseas?

Depending on which camera model you have, you can use regular (lithium!) AA batteries in these cameras, no need to buy the specialty 2-battery rechargeable pack and use the printer dock to charge. You can go with regular NiMH rechargeable batteries as well.

Battery life of kodak easy share is 2 pictures ... if that

Please check what type of batteries are these.
Z1085 will only work with LITHIUM AA's, Lithium CRV3 (you have to make sure it's not Ni-mh crv3) and a rechargeable KLIC 8000 Lithium-ion battery pack (the blue one). It will not work with any other type of rechargeable battery but KLIC 8000. If you're trying to use ni-mh rechargeables, it will really not work.

New batteries last a couple of hours at most in this camera.

Remove the batteries and clean the battery contacts inside the camera with a soft cloth (a heavy buildup on the contacts may require cleaning with a fine wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that the cleaning leaves in the camera, and then reinstall the batteries. This clears most power-on problems, but if yours persists, check the Kodak troubleshooting guide at:

Help me!

The most likely problem is the batteries. You don't mention which ones you have - if they're rechargeable, charge for 10 - 15 hours even if the charger indicates a full charge. If those rechargeables are a couple of years old - replace them. If using non-rechargeable, be sure they're NOT "heavy duty" or "super heavy duty" - those are useless, for toys. Get fresh alkaline batteries.

About battery door broken in Kodak CX7330

I've got 16 of these cameras and had to replace the door on 3 of them. (I'm a teacher)

it is quite simple, but there are little tiny screws and some dexterity required!
to replace the battery door, you need a super small screwdriver (I've used both an eyeglass size and the screwdriver that came with my son's tech deck!) . you'll have to unscrew all of the small screws that hold on the back of the camera. remember which screws go to which hole - because some are longer than others. once the screws are out, you'll have to gently pry off the cover. carefully - you dont want to crack the camera case. you'll also want to be careful not to touch the sensor, which will be exposed with the case off.

NEXT you;ll have to pry the little spring out of the battery door to actually remove the old door. you'll probably have to use a screw driver to pull the spring on the new door back enough to fit back into the holes. that's really all there is to it. replace the cover and the screws.

I need a new battery door do you know where I can purchase this item?

Try ebay. They have it all. You might be able to find a camera that doesn't work but is being sold for parts. I see stuff like that on there all the time.
