The water and ice dispenser stopped working.

My 1 year and 2 week old Maytag MF12568AES ice/water dispenser stopped working. I called Maytag and they gave me the name of the repairman. He spent about an hour and a half trouble shooting the system. He advised that I need a new "actuator switch". He advised me it would cost $185 for the switch plus $90 for the service call. 2 weeks later he advised me that the part is back ordered with no prognosis ar to when one will be available. What now????

GuruCheck the water supply from the plumbing. Normally a small valve in the basement.
