Question about Timex 27191 Wristwatch

Timex Indiglo WR 30M Wristwatch

Hi,
I am having a hard time putting the back on after I replaced the battery. I've always changed my own batteries on watches and never had a problem getting the backs on or off, but this one is really hard. Help!

I have the same problem...Actually, the clerks in two stores have also tried to reattach the back and have been unable to do so. My wife and I have tried all possible positions and cannot get the back to latch back on.

    Any suggestions will be appreciated.....Ken

First, find the arrow on the back and use a small screwdriver or knife to pry open the back at that point. Replace battery and then replace back wiht the arrow pointing to the middle of the band as orginially found. Third, press the back on the left side and then use a rubber mallet to strike the "raised" side down and it'll snap in place. Alternative method -- use a cushioned screw clamp to compress the back.

You could get one on ebay, and most department stores will also carry them.

How to remove stem on timex indiglo WR 30M ?

Insane as it seems, apparently the Indiglo wr30m watch stem does NOT have either a set screw or a release button. No vice needed though, just good fingernails. Pull it out one click to the 'set time' position and pull it out some more and it comes out.

i wind the clock hands forward until the calendar date and week day changes and then i re-wind the hands until it comes to the correct time. when i re-wind the hands, the week day goes back to the correct date and the calendar date does not go back by one day. i don't know if this is the "correct" way to do it, but it works.

I second the vice advice...the only thing that worked was to put it in a vice and crank it one more crank then you think is possible. You will hear a little "pop" when it snaps into place. It was the only thing that worked!
