Where can I get the #506 software and cable kit? I will also need a usb cable adaapter

The ION IED01 electronic drum kit requires the "brains" module to function properly. The module is responsible for converting the signals from the drum pads and cymbals into MIDI data that can be interpreted by a computer or other device. Without the module, the pads and cymbals will not produce any sound or trigger any MIDI data. Unfortunately, it is not possible to bypass the module and connect the USB cable directly to your laptop. You will need to obtain a replacement module in order to use the drum kit.

you would have to make sure you get the right cable
look at the se-506 and note if a male plug end if required or a female plug end
look at the usb input port on the tv and note if a male plug end if required or a female plug end .
I am guessing that both ends will need to be fatter plugs but you can confirm this by photographing the ports and showing the pictures to the electronics retailer who sells usb cables when your go out to buy a cable.

Hello first you need to have a transcription software program, there is a different transcription software and depends on the one you used, that's the pedal that you will need, or you can buy the complete kit pedal and software any of the following can work for you.

Radio Shack or Best Buy has these items, just ask someone who works at one to show you where they are, they can be tricky to find sometimes.

Your phone has a mini-USB port so you can connect it to a computer to transfer data. Motorola Original USB data cables and supporting software are sold separately. Check your computer or hand-held device to determine the type of cable you need. To transfer data between your phone and computer, you must install the software included with the Motorola Original data kit. Have you been provided with cable and the CD software. If so then it is easy. Download the software from the CD in your computer. Then connect the cell phone with the USB cable to the computer. Now you can download the data from the computer and vice versa.

To reload the software you need the cables kit you mentioned. Both firmware and tours are available on the Meade web site for free download.

Reinstall the firmware.

Summary: outdated software
The software this kit comes with is old and outdated. It is not supported by Windows XP nor Windows Vista. The latest supported version of Windows is Windows 98.
It also appears that the included software is a limited trial software. It is limited to the included 3 catalogs (star maps). The complete set of catalogs must be purchased additionally at quite some expense.
The cable connection kit couldn't be reviewed because it was missing from the package I received, but keep in mind when you order this kit, that neither Windows XP nor Windows Vista support serial ports anymore. The additional USB to serial adapter would be required.

That last line would suggest to me that if one had a USB to Serial adapter it might work? but I really do not know for sure. checking into some more stuff...

Found another article that states "It requires a PC running Windows 98SE through Windows XP. It will not run under Windows 95 or earlier, nor will it run under Windows Vista."

OK I found this site, you might be able to make some sense of it. But I did read in there that they do make USB serial adapters that will work with Vista OS.
