Question about Canon PowerShot A520 Digital Camera

1 Answer

I can watch my camera download all images one by one onto my computer but then they are nowhere to be found. This has always worked perfectly in the past. The only thing that has changed is that I uninstalled Corel Photo application and my ZoomBrowser has not worked correctly since. Thanks for any help!

How to Save a Movie From a Panasonic NV-GS11 Video Camera to a PC

I bought my Panasonic NV-GS11 video camera from eBay and for the cost, it seemed perfect. I liked the feel of the camera, it's simplicity of use, until I tried to transfer my movie to a PC and that's when the trouble started!
Normally, when you connect a camera using the USB connection, your PC recognises the device and you can use it straight away. I had no end of problems getting the PC to do this and I thought the driver was at fault.
The answer, in hindsight, is that in the menu there are 2 items for the USB Function, "web camera" and "DV Studio" - the software for acquiring still photos from the camera. Choose "web camera", connect your camera to the PC via the USB connection and switch on the camera using the Playback mode. Check "My Computer" and there should be a video camera icon with "USB Video Device" beside it. Double click onto this icon will open up a page, where if you start your movie from the camera, you can see the results on the PC screen. Unfortunately, there's nowhere on this page where you can save the movie itself.
I searched with Google and found the answer. Many people had the same issue but there didn't seem to any answers. Eventually, I found one reply on a forum way down the page which provided the solution.
Download Windows Movie Maker from the Microsoft page. This is for Windows XP:-
http://www.download.com/Windows-Movie-Maker-Windows-XP-/3000-13631_4-10165075.html
Open Movie Maker and you will see " Capture from video device" This allows you to save your movie into a directory of your choice and later burn the movie onto a CD using your favourite software.

Upload pictures onto laptop- way too big

This is a 12.1MP camera...if you have it set to take pictures that large, then the files will be huge...too big for the internet. You have to downsize them first...that's perfectly normal. You could set the camera to take lower quality pics, but if you come across one you would like to enlarge, it won't turn out very well. Why not continue the procedure you now use if it's working for you.

Problem downloading image

One of the images did not finish writing to the card properly (usually in the last 4 or 5 images, or the last video)
Try selecting all but the last 10 images and chose import selected. This should work. Then delete those from the card.
This bit is important
Put the card back in the camera (if it's in a usb reader) if not, disconnect the camera and put it into playback mode. View the remaining 10 images/video.
Try re importing and it should work fine! I've had this problem since ilife '09 and this method always fixes it. It seems to happen when the cards get full. Try not to completely fill a memory card and you should not get the problem.

I would try to replace the usb cable, but it sounds more like a software problem not the camera. If the camera shuts off during transmission it will keep the pictures from transporting.

Picture size

your best bet is to resize the images. you can easly resize using windows or easier using the camera software, under zoombrowser go to internet then email emages, follow that then save the images to your computer then try those images. If could be that the ones that wouldn't transfer they could have been edited, if the DPI setting of the image has been changes or set in anyway that could be makign the images over 27"

On the camera you can easily change the resolution of fuure images y pressing func/set button and scrolling down to the bottom where you have L , M1 M@ M# S, try choosing S if your not planning on printing images other than on your report
