Question about Whirlpool MH7140XF Microwave Oven
Whirlpool microwave over model number MH7140XFB no longer heats up food when operating. It was purchased in 1999. The light turns on, the turn table rotates, and it sounds like it is operating properly but the food does not heat up. What is the replacement part needed to fix the unit and how much will it cost? I'd like to compare the cost of repairing the microwave verses purchasing a new one.
You either need a new h.v. capacitor or h.v. diode in the magnetron circuitry if you cant hear it cycle when it runs as in a low pitched hummmm when its drawing current to operate the magnetron tube, each part runs about $30 to $45 each, normally its the h.v. capacitor though
