Keyboards can range from $50 to $150+. Apple will probably charge under $75 for the install the new one. Check with a local apple store, or call 1-800-MY-Apple

Some of the keys won't work and I can't log in Please help I have homework

If your keyboard has a key marked "NUM LOCK," make sure it is not enabled. This is a common cause of some of the keyboard keys not being recognized.
Not being able to inspect your machine personally, the only other option I can suggest in time for you to get your homework done tonight is to attach a separate USB keyboard to your MacBook and use it. It will work just fine, provided your problem is in the original keyboard and not in software. You may be able to borrow a USB keyboard from another computer in your house, or from a neighbor. It need not be an Apple keyboard.

Where is the delete button?

There isn't a 'delete' button like you'd find on the extended keyboard, if you hold function while pressing backspace it will function as a delete key. (My MacBook's backspace is labeled 'delete' but is a standard backspace.)

Answer: Function + Backspace = Delete

I hope this is helpful and works for you. If I didn't fully answer your question, please let me know and I will do my best to add or clarify my response. If this was helpful, please rate my answer with 5 thumbs up.

Flashing question mark on white screen

The computer is saying that it cannot find the operating system. Usually, due to hard drive broken or you got corrupt boot up files. Insert disc 1 Apple gave you then turn the thing off. Now turn the thing back on and hold and press the option key on your keyboard. Release the key when the disc loads. Select the icon of the disc and press the right arrow. Then when the disc loads, you can go select utilites and then select disc utilities. Then select your hard drive in the left top box and then select First Aid and then select Repair Disk permissions. Close out and quit and try pressing the power button again. Also, try deleting the startup programs by going to system preferences, accounts, and login items. Then click on all the programs and click delete. Sometimes these crazy startup programs interfere with the bootup. If that don't help, then you def need a new hard drive.

Some keys won't work; delete, tab, spacebar, pg down, pg left (but pg up and right work) my external keyboard works fine. Help?

most of the time the problem is caused by a bad or worn out membrane. This is a green looking bar that is under the keys. You can find a replacement on ebay. Whomever you buy the membrane for will be able to give you detailed instructions on how to replace it. On a toshiba laptop, it takes 5 screws to replace. If you look at the bottom of your laptop, you will see a keyboard icon and that tells you which screws need to be taken out.

Delete key on macbook pro won't work

you may have inadvertently set up a keyboard short cut on the delete key... go to your system preference app in the dock. Then select keyboard shortcuts... if you select "default" at the bottom of the window it will revert to the factory shortcuts and eliminate any you may have accidentally created...
Hope that solves your delete issue...
