Re: bought a replacement remote that doesnt work......
First lets do a checking at your remote to make sure its working properly, how ? use a digital camera and point it where the LED or eye of the remote , when pointing the camera to the remote press any button of remote while watching the camera , if you see lights coming out its means remote is working .I did some searching myself at the website you purchased the remote, look like thet send you the wrong replacement. the right replacement model is MODEL: CLU436UI , not VT-RM6654a . hope this helps .

Jun 3, 2011 - Hi, I just bought the Sansai URC-L969 8 in 1 universal remote, ... the manual) i have put in all the codes and it just doesnt seem to work. ... Turn your device back on and try all the remote's functions to ensure they are working
If the infrared sensor inside the TV is faulty, TV won't respond to any remote controls. You can make it sure by looking into TVs standby light. If standby light on TVs front panel blinks once, when you press a key in the remtote control, make sure that the sensor inside is working properly, and the code you are trying to enter is non once for your Brand TV, If there is no blinks as such stated above, make sure that the infrared sensor inside your TV is faulty. If you want more details about codes, setup proceedings, repairing a remote & checking it, just visit this site. Th site name is "Electro-help".. Just search for it by type in 'electronicshelponline' in your browsers' search page. It is a blogspot site, in English language.
either the remote is bad or on the tv the circuit board at has the remote receiver on it is bad. If you bought it new and it has a warranty contact them for service. If not you could try programming a universal remote to see if it will work your set.
Have you make sure you were sent the correct one, according to the info for the model you give the replacement remote should be a 72796929 and it's available through the partstore.com for about 10 dollars. If you got a universal or programable remote then you'll have to try the code search procedure listed in the instruction manual. If you have the correct remote(part number) then there is a problem in the IR receiver panel or the IR receiver itself. If you have a universal remote you might want to try the dvd codes also because you have the combo/TV
If you can come up with the model number, you should be able to find a remote here:
Before buying ANY 'universal' remote, find the manufacturer's website and check first; there is no such thing as a 'universal' remote - they are at best 'multi-brand.'
Some folks have bought several before realizing this and I'm telling at no charge!
