First, with power off,try to manually turn the fan by hand,it should turn freely and coast to a stop by itself, then if so,there is what they call a "dual-Capacitor" inside the unit and one side of this capacitor is the motor start/run capacitor and they go bad,it is a silver can with 3 terminals marked F/C/H fan/common/hermetics (for the compressor), and will say something like 5uf./35uf at 440 volts A.C. on the body of this component go get a replacement at most electrical outlets

Exhaust fan is hitting something while running

The fan blade shifted (moved) on the motor shaft. Take it apart (usually from the rear) and move the fan blade a 1/4 to 1/2 of an inch to clear the housing. Don't add oil to the shaft otherwise it will move again.

When trailblazer is on, i hear a loud squeeking sound. when checking engine i noticed that the radiator cooling fan and pulley move up and down. does not seem to be wobbling at all just moving up and down....

Sounds like your fan clutch is going bad. If you can move the fan by hand then I recommend changing the fan clutch. If it completely fails your fan will be shot through your radiator.

Inside strip of fridge is very hot. cleaned out behind fridge and the coils, etc. fan is barely moving/not moving. any suggestions???

Replace the fan. The strip has a freon line running behind it, and when it is hot, this tells us that you have a dirty condensor, bad condensor fan motor, bad evaporator fan motor, defrost problem, or a freon system problem. When you say your fan is barely moving, I am assuming this is your condensor fan motor, which sucks air through the hot freon lines in the condensor coils, and cools the freon off. If it is barely moving, it can't cool the freon. In some brands a slow moving condensor fan can be caused by a bad main control board. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists

I just installed a Hunter five minute fan which says it is called the augusta. I have also installed several other hunter fans in my house through the years, and they seem to move extremely fast especially...

Speed is not a factor in moving air. You can move air with a little fan that runs real fast or you can move the same amount of air with a big fan that moves slow.

It is the pitch of the blades that moves air. Big blades with steep pitch moving slow are comparable to little blades with shallow pitch that move fast.

It seems to me someone is trying to baffel you with bull**** when they tell you CFM = watts or something similar.

The real question is, is the fan moving the air necessary to achieve the result you desire? If yes, speed is not really a factor.

Let me know if this helps you.

My 2004 Montero Sport blows cold air when I am moving but only cool air when not moving. The pressure looks good on the a/c, about 35psi at 70 degrees ambient temp. There is an electric fan in front of the...

This fan is more tham likely the a/c fan. the reason you only get cold air when moving is bcus air is rapidly flowing over the condensor when the car is moving. when at a stop the fan should compensate for the lack of air flow. This is most likely the place to start, the fan circuit and components.
