I have a cheap Chinese power supply. My problem is it runs at full power all the time it always shows 18 volts no matter where I turn the knob.. Funny thing is sometimes it does work. Its a solong

It has a bad feedback connection in the regulator, or (if it's a linear power supply rather than a switcher) there's an intermittent short in the pass transistor. If you provide the make and model number, maybe I can give you more specific information.

I have a Kramer VP729 video/audio switcher stop getting signal from hdmi 1 and 2 inputs. I have checked HDMI cables they are working. I have turned off receiver reset it to factory settings and reprogram...

The 729 is a pretty old box and only accepts HDMI @ 1080i 1080p. 720i 720p 480i and 480p
Because the 729 is HDMI compliant, and HDCP compliant, you cannot display an HDMI signal on a computer monitor which will not display a content protected source.

Connect your source directly to the display, if that’s ok then try through the switcher.

Check for the latest firmware from Kramer,
You can always call their tech support team.

Turn hdmi2 on

hdmi is auto detecting and shouldn't need to be turned on. try plugging your hdmi1 device into the hdmi2 slot. if switching devices around doesn't get hdmi2 working, that jack is likely broken. all the hdmi ports go into the 1 main board inside, and a lot of times you would have to replace that board to fix. if only 1 jack now works, you could also get an hdmi switcher, and then plug all your devices into that, and then just plug the switcher into the working jack. let me know if I you require further assistance.

All lights flickering

Turn it off and leave it off till it is fixed.

There is a problem in the PMP5000 that is LIKELY in the PMP3000 as well.

The problem is arcing in the rear-most power amp near the heatsink.

When this gets bad, it will short out and fry the power supply and the amp if it persists. The arcing will trip the overcurrent sense and shut down the unit including the display until it finally goes completely.

I have repaired two of the 5000's now with identical problem. There is inadequate insulation in a multi-layer board in the rear-most power amp. The arcing occurs between the output lead of the switchers and the source lead circuit trace for the 9640 switcher transistors. The output switcher lead unfortunately is an internal circuit trace and hard to fix. Once burned, the board becomes carbonized and conductive.

NEVER run the unit without a speaker load on the unit.

Not getting fuel. told not to use the rear tank

I had an 86 F150 with dual tanks, it had a similar problem. The problem ended up being the switcher valve (switches from one fuel tank to the other). Mine was electrically controlled and would switch from rear tank to front tank, but (front tank also had a leak) would not switch back to rear tank. I found out that my switcher valve (after I tried rebuilding the switcher valve myself, and determined that it was not repairable and needed replacement) was defective. They are also not cheap-about 10 years ago it was about $150! Don't know if yours is the same model, but I found the easiest thing for me to do then was remove the front tank, since it leaked (metal mounting straps worn through in spot where insulation came out sideways), and remove the switcher valve. I always left my tank switch set to REAR (dont know if anything would have happened if I had moved it to FRONT anyway, with valve and tank gone) and it always worked fine from then on out.

What you need to do is probably a 2 man job: Have someone inside the cab have ignition on and work the switch from one tank to the other, while you are underneath the truck at the switcher valve. Your job would be to determine if the valve actually works both ways, or just one way, or not at all.

Also there are fuel filters in several places: there is one in the switcher valve, further up along the frame toward the engine, and should be one somewhere on the engine, too. Also each tank should have an in tank pump. Several places to check, it's a big job, its messy, gasoline is toxic, not to mention explosive. Wish I had better news for you.

Hope I've been helpful.

NO POWER EVERY THING CHECKS OKEY The switcher transistor was shorted also the bridge rect. A small resistor was open next to the switcher. H.O.T. okey .I replaced all of these and the tv is still dead....

switch mode power supply are very finicky check the opto coupler isolator of proper operation, also is there a non polarized capacitor at the high or hot side of the power supply, if so replace it, this can be the cause of the fault to begin with, usually around .47 mfd to 4.7, non polarized.

Good luck
