What you should do is remove the bucket and look for a pressure switch which is most of the time under the bucket and test it by pushing down on it's plunger, if the unit turns off either the switch needs adjusting or is there is a plate above it needs the be bent .

Have model 043-6121-4 connected with a garden hose yet the bucket continues to fill.

Where are you running the hose to drain it? If the end of the hose is higher than the top of the bucket, then the bucket will fill and overflow. The drain hose must drain out into some place that is at least lower than the top of the bucket. That way the bucket won't overflow. Basic physics.

The bucket fills up but we have to put a towel down because it leaks all over the floor. What could be wrong ?

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that the bucket fills with water and overflows on your Frigidaire dehumidifier, model# FAD704DUD. Please make sure your dehumidifier is installed on a level that will support it with a full bucket of water. If the dehumidifier is moving when it fills with water then this could possibly be the cause of the bucket overflowing. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Does not shut off when bucket full and overflows.

From what you have described, the float valve is the top left rear of the bucket may be stuck in the down position and is not rising when the water level rises to the shut off point. Jiggle the float valve handle to free it up. In addition, the bucket may not be installed properly and is allowing water to leak onto the floor. Be sure that bucket is installed "squarely:" into it's holder from top to bottom. When installed properly, there should be no downward tilt at the bottom of the bucket.

To further assist you, I have included a link to your Owners Manual in case you have misplaced yours. You may download and print this manual for future reference.

Does not shut off and overflows

In most cases this problem is caused by the water collection bucket not being installed properly. It may not have been pushed in far enough to allow the full switch to activate when needed. Be sure that each time you remove the bucket to empty it and then reinstall it, that the lift handle of the bucket is all the way in down position and that the bucket is fitting squarely into the holder from top to bottom.

Note: Your specific model has been discontinued by LG. However, some parts are still available if needed.

If you run your dehumidifier constantly and don't want to make a repair to it. You may want to consider using a drain hose, rather than the water collection bucket. This would require a floor drain close to the unit, though.

Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem.

AFTER A YEAR MY DEHUMIDIFIER WONT TURN ON, IS THERE A FUSE HIDDEN SOMEWHERE IN THE UNIT THAT COULD POSSIBLY BE BLOWN? IF SO MNCOULD YOU POINT ME IN THER DIECTION TO REPLACE IT. THANK YOU

its the bucket switch on the unit thats bad,it controls the water level overflow so unit shuts off when bucket is full, its at the top rigt side of the bucket mounted to the float in the bucket and there is a replacement available part # AP3136674,on some units depending on the mounting hole size, you may need to use some old switch mounting parts on the new switch so it fits

Do i need to disable the collection bucket to attach a drain line to my Matag dehumidifer M7DH45B2a? Or does it keep a full bucket and drain the overflow to the tubing drain?

No just connect the hose and open the hole to the unit to drain and return to usauge. it will fill to the drain opening and drain.

My LG dehumidifier does not turnoff when full and overflows

make sure the float in the bucket isn't binding on something. The float actually activates a button that you can see when you remove the bucket. pull the bucket out and see if the unit cuts off. Maybe the button is stuck.

Bucket overfills to the point of spillage

The float is the main feature that keeps it from overflowing. I have no idea why there would even have to be an adjustable component in the circuit. The float is connected to an On-OFF microswitch and may be tested with the unit set to run.
Remove the bucket and manually push upward on the float. If the unit stops running then the bucket may be misalgned,(Make sure float is on the inside of the bucket and not lodged behind the bucket).
