Is the belts suppose to be tight on the roller when you’re vacuuming or not

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
In answer to your question, the belt is supposed to be tight to give you the best cleaning for removing dirt from your carpet. A suggested belt change for most all vacuums is 4 to 6 months and to store the belts in a Ziploc bag in the refrigerator to keep them fresh. If the belt is loose, once the brushroll hits the carpet, all the belt would do is spin and burn. Thank you for your question.

Rollers not moving

A careful inspection is likely to reveal the belt that moves the rollers is broken or the rollers are jammed up with hair or fiber and cannot move---the jammed up issue usually requires no real tools but the belt will require that are where the rollers are to be opened up to get at the belt which usually slips on the shaft from a motor---tight fit.

My roller bush won't turn ever time i put a new

1) you need a little tight the belt, with the bolts of motor.
2) you must shure if the belt if NOT large or short( in both cases the rollers will NOT run. can be slip. or too TIGHT. and BRAKE the motor.
3) the motor you must test for brush, switch, or open winding.
4) put a little lube in the extreme of shaft rollers, see by turning at hand if they run of course unplugged the power cord.
God bless you

Is the roller suppose to continously go around when running? Doesn't seem to change mat in carpet when going over it. Doesn't seem to be much suction..

That means that you need to replace the belt. The belt is what turns the roller brush, and when it is stretched or worn it doesn't. You can get replacement belts here:

Belt squeels when the roller starts turning. only used about 10 times. Small belt under cover is very loose, but it shouldn't be worn out after only about 10 uses. does the small bell just rest on the belt...

Normally the belts should last longer than 10 uses, but if the roller brush catches something like a rug fringe it can cause the belt to slip off or even stretch to the point it won't turn the brush. In case you need a new belt here is a link and here is also a link to the manual. Hope it helps!

Belt keeps coming off

I believe there is something wrong with the roller, could be the barrings or the end caps are warped. Try this, take the roller out and with each hand on each end hold the roller and try to spin the roller with your thumb. If it does not spin freely the problem is the roller.

How do I put a new belt on Hoover Concept One vaccume cleaner?

you most likely have to remove the cover over the roller, which has screws usually. then you will see the belt. the roller slips out replace the belt by putting it over the roller and a metal rod that is up under the cover you removed. this will be a hard job putting the roller bar back in the vacuum because the belt is so tight.

Changing the belt

It is quite easy. Just take off the bottom of the vacuum encasing the roller brush. It should snap off or you may have to unscrew some screws and lift the cover off. Then remove the roller and clean it while you have it out. Now put the new belt on the motor shaft or pulley and slip the brush into the belt. Then replace the roller brush pulling the belt tight. Replace the cover and clean house.

I can't get the power brush belt on tight. Am I missing something?

I don't know what brand of vacuum you have, but the belts on most vacuums should be changed approx. once a year. The belt can look fine, but is stretched and won't have the necessary tension to turn the roller. It is possible that the roller is in need of servicing. If the bearings in the roller are fouled with dirt and hair, they will not turn properly and a new belt will not solve your problem. Take the roller out of the machine and turn the end caps by hand. They should turn freely. Once you've determined that the roller is o.k., install a new belt, turn the roller by hand to make sure that nothing is jammed and then try the machine again.
