Is the belts suppose to be tight on the roller when you’re vacuuming or not
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
In answer to your question, the belt is supposed to be tight to give you the best cleaning for removing dirt from your carpet. A suggested belt change for most all vacuums is 4 to 6 months and to store the belts in a Ziploc bag in the refrigerator to keep them fresh. If the belt is loose, once the brushroll hits the carpet, all the belt would do is spin and burn. Thank you for your question.
