Question about Toro Garden
Toro 51992 weedwacker won't start. The gas line with the fuel filter on it was just laying inside the gas tank. Took the gas tank off, so I could check the lines. The lines seem ok. Now I'm trying to figure out were the line with the fuel filter hooks back too. There's a rubber seal with two holes in it...one for the primer bulb and a second for the ??main line. Does the fuel filter line hook up to the primer bulb, or the main line?

Your Craftsman Trimmer/weedwacker:
Best Poulan Engine Match (probably real manufacturer):
My decisions are being driven by my experience with Poulan chainsaws. Small hose in tank (long enough to reach all corners), filter on bottom, connects to lowest connection on carburetor. Small hose on upper carburetor connection to small fitting on primer. Large hose from large connection on primer through largest tank hole, roughly mid tank long. nothing on bottom. I suggest you leave the 2 connections on the carburetor long enough they can be swapped (just in case) then try it. if no go swap them.
Typical fuel system and a suggestion or two:
This is how I would configure it if a chainsaw, doubtful they would do something completely different. In defense of Jerry, he knows how it should be done, clarity of instruction could use some help. Good Luck. HTH

Testimonial: "Yes, was almost exactly what I needed. Did have to search to find which port on the carburetor was the inlet an the other the outlet."
Hi There, Check the primer bulb for tare or pin holes. Replace it. Check and clean carb jet it maybe plugged with debree. Also check for spark which you didn't say. Replace with correct plug.
Note; Do not use strong cleaners on rubber seals (O rings and gaskets) They dry up and crack.
If needed use a dabble of grease on seals

Testimonial: "Thank you. I had to merely add more gas to tank & bulb siphoned fine. Changed the plug and bingo! It started & runs great. "
SOURCE: I have a Craftsman Weedwacker
that line should be longer, it contains the filter which is the pick up, and should rest inside the tank fully,, see if its possible to pull that line farther into the tank, its not going to start until the primer bulb fills
