Question about Hamilton Beach Water Cooler with Storage Cabinet

Won't Stop Cooling

My Hamilton Beach Water Cooler Model 87330 won't stop cooling my water. This just started happening. The water cooling device normally shuts off once the water has cooled, but now it just keeps cooling.

Same thing with my water cooler 87330 cooling light won't shut off the fans keep running. Problem started week of August 11th.

Our water cooler started with the cooling component NOT shutting off.....then the cold water stopped coming out. It now drizzles out....Hamilton Beach has not been helpful. We have unplugged the unit for 24 hrs., sanitized the unit and have removed the bottle of water and let it "dry out" all to no avail.

My water Hamilton Beach water cooler is doing the same thing. It was working fine for the first few months that I've had it but then the cooler kept running and never shuts off. After a few days the water started to slow down then eventually no water.

I have the same problem. These units use a pair if thermoelectric coolers with heat sinks to chill the water. There isn't a replaceable thermostat as the coolers are controlled by a chip. I'm tossing mine and buying a Honeywell.

Fans run all the time and blue cooling light will not turn off, just started about 2 weeks ago. I took off the back and noticed the fins were very dirty (had this about 1 year) so I ahve cleaned out with compressed air thinking that air may not be circulating freely and cooling the water. I will let you know if this had any effect.

Thermostat is stuck. try buying a water cooler control from a local supply house.

Our Hamilton beach water cooler makes a constant noise as it cools the water. The cooler does not shut off once the water is cold. Series #A0370CT.

When empty of water remove the back panel and the cooling fins are most likely covered with an inch of dirt! Find an air compressor and blow out the dirt. It worked on mine!

Hamilton Beach 87330 hot water problem.

The two round "devices" on the tank are the operational thermostat, and the "safety" overtemp thermostat. It is usually the "operational" thermostat that fails, since it has to cycle a lot and arc internally. It is usually about 120-140 degrees F., and the safety thermostat significantly higher.

Frig not cooling

The thermostat has become defective or it has lost freon or the compressor has failed.

Unless it is the thermostat, It may not be cost effective to repair so check the cost of a replacement.

To resolve this problem, unplug the dispenser and let it sit for about 24 hours. I had this problem happen to me and I took the unit apart to find out the cause. I discovered that the the water cooling mechanism developed a big chunk of ice inside of it and it basically blocked the flow water. Allowing that ice to melt should resolve this problem. It did for us.

Hamilton Beach 87330 water cooler

Hello! About 2 weeks ago, the same problem began on my Hamilton Beach water dispenser.
Last week, I called the HB service support, and they told me to do the following reset procedure:

1. Dispense 3 cups from the HOT water side, and also, 3 cups from the COLD water side.
2. Turn BOTH back switches OFF (the ones on the back of the water dispenser).
3. Unplug the dispenser, and LEAVE it unplugged for 24 hours.
4. After 24 hours, turn the back switches ON and plug it in.
5. Leave it on for 4 hours WITHOUT dispensing any water.

...it's been about 12 hours since I've dispensed water again for the first time, and so far, SO GOOD! I'll update if the problems reappear.

No Cold Water

Sounds like the fans have stoped turning for the cooling system. If you cannot hear the fans turn on when you flip the COOL switch this is your problem. Pick the fans up at a computer parts store like Frys. Any other part failure on this unit other than a loose wire is not worth repairing.
