Question about Panasonic PT-50DL54 50" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

Recieving error code

My panasonic dlp is showing 3 blinking red lights on the power button. by reading the other post this means a Fan Sos. which fan is this refering to?
Panasonic lists 3 fan parts and is this an item I can repair myself. I've replaced the lamp already thinking that was the problem with not getting a picture and getting a replace lamp message for a month. Any help would be very helpful

You should open the back panel. The fan for the lamp module is the one on the right.
There is a fan on top of one of the metal cage at the center. With the power turned on you should see that they are moving. With the power off, blow out the dust with compressed air and then vacuum. Do not blow into the fan on the right as it will get all the dust into the lamp module.

My 73" mitsubishi dlp WD-73827 turns off and has a red status light blinking. I have replaced the bulb and the heat sensor... any answer to what else could be the problem?

It is helpful to have the sequence of the blinking red light. This may help:

MODELS: WD-52627 / 52628 / 62627 / 62628 / 62827 / 62927 / 73727 / 73827 / 73927

3. Error Code Operational Check

Note: The TV must be in "Shut Down" and not have been switched Off, to perform the Error Code Operational

Check. When the TV is switched Off, the code automatically resets to "12" No Error.

Pressing the front panel "DEVICE" and "MENU" buttons at the same time, and holding for 5 seconds,

activates the Error Code Mode. The LED flashes denoting a two digit Error Code, or indicating no problem

has occured since the last Initalization.

Note: The front panel buttons must be used, NOT those on the Remote Control.

• The number of flashes indicates the value of the MSD (tens digit) of the Error Code.

• The flashing then pauses for approximately 1/2 second.

• The LED then flashes indicating the value of the LSD (ones digit) of the Error Code.

• The Error Code is repeated a total of 5 times.

Example: If the Error Code is "23", the LED will flash two times, pause, and then flash three times.

Power button blinks green about 1 minute then goes red

There is an additional problem,

if the bulb had been replaced by a technician, call them back and ask for additional support, since they did not fix the problem.

Tv doesnt show anything

Got (if model listed is correct) any blinking lights?

Set has a self check:

Here's something that might also be useful. After you turnon the set, and get the regular red blinky lights, hold down the Device andMenu buttons together for about 5 seconds.
The Power light will start to flash in a two digit sequence.
For example, 3 flashes, then 7 flashes = 37.
Here are the error codes, and the corresponding problem:
12 = No error detected, check power supply.
32 = Lamp Cover is open.
33 = Air filtercover is open.
34 = Lamp abnormality
36 = Light Engine (DMD or Lamp Fan stopped)
37 = Exhaust or Lamp Ballast Fan stopped
38 = Lamp Temperature High
39 = DMD Temperature High
41 = Short is detected
44 = DVI cablebetween FMT and Engine disconnected

Mitsubishi wd52525 shows error code 37

error code 37 is either the dmd fan or the lamp fan. you can see the dmd fan with the cover off. you cannot set the lamp fan as it is under the light engine. I guess the easiest thing to do is get a lamp fan 299P282010 and a dmd fan 299P283010 and change them both.

I have a Mitsubishi WD-62525. This morning my TV would not turn on so I pressed the rest button. After the Timer light stopped blinking I pressed power. I could hear the fans start than a somewhat loud...

the status light blinking red means a fan (the unit hs 4 of them) has failed. you need to determine which one. use the self diagnostic function:
Error Code Operational Check
Note:
The TV must be in “Shut Down” and not manually switched Off, to perform the Error Code Operational
Check. When the TV is switched Off, the code automatically resets to “12” No Error.
Press the front panel “DEVICE” and “MENU” buttons at the same time, and hold for 5 seconds to
activate the Error Code Operational Check. The LED will then flash denoting a two digit Code.
Example: If the Error Code is “32”, the LED will flash three times, pause, and then flash two times.
• The Error Code is repeated a total of 5 times.

and read the code.
35= Chassis Fan failure
36 =Exhaust (Back Cover) or Lamp Ballast Fan failure
37= Engine (DMD or Lamp) Fan failure

Power problem

How many blinks is it doing? It has a built in self diagnosis code that it will blink. Pause a second then blink again. Count the blinks then let me know.

The 3 times LED code points to no fan rotation. There are 2 fans. Check the larger fan first, p/n = FBL12G12LS, located near the lamp. Even though that fan may be rotating, it may be slow.

Power Button Blinking Red

Talli,
The number of blinks, called error codes, is crucial in determining what's wrong with your unit.. In this case the color wheel is faulty and needs to be replaced. In that unit the color wheel assembly is Panasonic p/n# TXFEN01RP4S and is available from many sources for about $390.00 plus shipping.
There are some companies like Tri-State-Module that have taken-up rebuilding color wheel assemblies but I can't be certain that this is one of the brand/models they support. If you can have it rebuilt you might save about half the price of a new one...
For your edification in the future here are the blink codes for your Tv:
1 | Load Shortage
2 | Over Volage
3 | Fan Sos
4 | Main 3.3v
5 | Lamp Disable
6 | Gc3fm-Iic
7 | Gc3fs-Iic
8 | Gc3i-Iic
9 | Color Wheel Stop

If I can help any other way just let me know...
Good Luck!
Bill

There is a problem in your 3.3v main line and until corrected it will not power the lamp. This isn't usually an expensive repair but one that a shop will need to do since most of the work will be in trace testing voltage and signal using a scope.
For future information only here are the blink codes for this unit:

1 | Load Shortage
2 | Over Volage
3 | Fan Sos
4 | Main 3.3v
5 | Lamp Disable
6 | Gc3fm-Iic
7 | Gc3fs-Iic
8 | Gc3i-Iic
9 | Color Wheel Stop
Hope this helps!
