Says "disc loading" for a long time then returns to...

We have tried a cleaning disc and tried unplugging and replugging in the power cord. Have tried numerous discs and all say "disc loading" for quite a while then returns to the blue screen. I have heard you can't buy a new component only, that you need to replace the whole system. Where can I buy the DVD player only - since the screen works fine? Is there a way to fix it?
