Question about RTO Echo 25.4 Cc Backpack Leaf Blower - Pb-265lc

I have a Echo PB-260L Blower. It starts fine then gradually loses power sometimes completely shutting off. I have replaced the fuel filter spark plug air filter and have cleaned the screen.

Check the exhaust port upstream from the muffler and make sure it is not restricted with carbon. Mine was less than half way covered over with carbon. Scraped out carbon, checked muffler and screen(ok), back-blow the fuel line harness including the fuel filter and fuel tank vent and took carb apart and blew out all passages, not replacing anything and now runs fine. Would not rev past high idle before. Be sure gas is FRESH and mixed at 40-50 to 1. Hope this helps.

You're a genius. Thank you. Pulled off the muffler and found so much carbon, it was a wonder it ran at all. Cleaned it up and it now runs like new. Interestingly, the loss of power is similar to the loss of power experienced in an automobile when the catalytic converter gets clogged up. But this was a much cheaper fix. Thanks again.

ECHO PB-500T - Stopped running and added gas fuel mix. Quit running again with full tank and now flywheel is stuck and I can't pull to start it. What is the problem?

My $350 Echo PB-500T seized up. I almost cried.

The solution was to drain the fuel tank.

  • Refill fuel tank with an 2-cycle Oli/gas mixture.

  • 40:1 =3.2 oz to one-gallon gas, do not use Alcohol base gas.

  • Remove the spark plug.

  • Pour approximate 1/8 oz 2-cycle Oli into the spark plug hole.

  • Remove the pull cord assembly (4-bolts)

  • This reviled the crank shaft-Pull cord bracket

  • I use a large monkey wrench to turn the shaft (CW) Clock-wise.

  • Complete approximate 20 revolutions.

  • Reassemble, but don't install the spark plug yet.

  • Complete approximate 20 more revolutions

    by pulling the pull cord.

  • Use q-tips to swab the top of the piston, as much as possible.

  • Install the spark-plug and crank, it will smoke for amount 7-10 minutes

Echo 260L no power, will start but not run

Check the insulator block for cracks and the 2 gaskets behind it. Make sure the gaskets are lined up properly.

Echco PB-230LN blower

Try adding some "Seafoam" brand additive to the fuel mixture, that did the trick for mine. Must have been something in the carb and the Seafoam cleaned it out, runs just like the day it came out of the box
