I have a sony s-master digital amplifier which will not power up: when I plug it i to power it takes about 30 minutes before the red standby light comes on but no other functions operate.

So the standby indicator never changes state? If so, more than likely, your amplifier has DC Offset(a damaged amplifier inside) which will keep the speakers off, and disable any use of the front or remote functions. If you are interested in having your Sony repaired, please refer to my website, audioserviceclinic.com. You may contact me there. Thank you.

Sony HCD LX20i audio shelf sysyem won't turn on. Standby light flashing. Disc stuck in it.

Check the speaker wires for shorts, if okay! suspect the audio output ic's, the protection circuit won't come out of standby because there is a short.

HI we have a Sony HCD-RG444,it wont turn on its as dead as a dodo (but the Standby light keeps flashing)any idears

wonder if the manual says anything on the flashing standbylight? but ill bet the flashing is a protector, which means the speaker amplifier is shorted or dodod. so disconnect the speaker wires first .
