Paper lodged in printer. First green light on printer flashing. Then the printer was not printing. It sent paper thru blank. Then in took in about 12 pages at once and became lodged???

Turn off printer and computer, remove logged in paper, turn both on again and try to print anew.

That should do it.

Good luck & God bless!

Paper keeps feeding thru w/o printing. Prints a couple of lines jumbled (not what's on screen), throws it out and takes more paper.

Try uninstall the printer drivers and download then install the latest version. This blank paper printing with random "symbols" are caused by incompatible drivers.

HP 5550 Print issue

When you removed the jammed paper , the jam paper sensor was not reset or positioned correctly. The reason the machine was sending two pieces of paper thru at once was probably due to the paper feed sensor. A lot of H'Ps do this. Try re-aligning the tray and if you pulled the paper out and heard a grinding noise, the whole feed unit is probably out of time.I would only re-install the software as a last resort, since your problem was caused by hardware, not software.
