Question about ASUS M2V Motherboard

Open Question

I have an Asus 8400GS video card in an Asus M2V m/b. After being away for several weeks with the unit unplugged, I am getting just a blank screen. No beeps. Tried VGA as well as DVI cables. No better with an old Geforce 7300 video card. Beeps if I remove memory. No response to pressing "Del." Monitor works on a laptop. I don't have another machine with a PCI-E socket to check the video card(s) Any other suggestions?

SOURCE: Adding a second graphics card?

Hey there sven155, If i were you , I would get get the video card for the AGP slot. The main reason is the interface is much more efficient, and as a result the dual monitor output would be better in quality than you can get out of a PCI card or any USB connection. Another option is to have your TV Wonder plugged into the computer via AGP only when you need it, therefore you would be switching one for the other (Inconvenient). Ideally video card on AGP, TV card on the PCI.
Alternately you can make the two work, just not simultaneously, and you would have to change settings in the bios to set one or the other as your primary video output.

SOURCE: asus m2v won't boot

Press delete to go to setup. In the boot menu tab of the BIOS make sure the correct boot disk is selected, and that hard disk boot has first priority. Also make sure there aren't any bootable disks in the cd/dvd drives that might prevent the computer from booting.

SOURCE: vga compatibility

It appears that that model is AGP slot based, so it would not work in a PCI slot.

SOURCE: asus p4s800 beep codes. I get one long beep. I

The one long beep, this has something to do with the video card.
Can't really tell without the BIOS you are using !
Anyway, try removing the card and replace it. ( with anything, just to check. )
This is a good board, I have a ASUS P4C800 and you can't beet it.
P.S. Make sure all your memory is the same freq. and clock speed.
Good luck.

My inno GeForce 9600 GT gives a blank screen when used with my Asus M2V Motherboard. Is there a fix?

Simple test: try to boot in the BIOS - if you can't then the defect is hardware, either the video card or the motherboard have failed.
Another simple test to find out which: take out the GeForce , connect the monitor directly to the motherboard and try to go into the BIOS: if you can it's the video card, if you can't it's the motherboard.

Asus M2V motherboard has started locking up no apparent reason

Why don't you try these free programs first. Download the free program called CCleaner; http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner
Run the cleaner than run the registry cleaner. See if you're system stops locking up.
Still no help? Download Defraggler and run it. Lastly on the same site download Speccy and check if there is a heat problem within the system.
If you feel its the MB you can replace it preform a simple google search; http://www.google.com/products?hl=en&q=ASUS+M2V&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=L-XtS7CMDYH-8Ablxtj9Cg&sa=X&oi=product_result_group&ct=title&resnum=3&ved=0CDAQrQQwAg
Check for warrantys. You should find one that comes with a 1 year warranty.
