How do I use the prtsc button on toshiba ? It has END/prtsc. THANKS

If the 2 words written on the key are different colour then you might have to press the Fn key + End/prtsc for one of the options. If they are both the same colour then the Shift key + End/prtsc.

The Fn key has the same colour letters as the key which is pressed with it to perform a particular function.

Trying to find the surface area of a sphere given the volume: V = 4/3 X pi X r cube problem given vol. find the surface area v = 5000 5000(3/4 pi =r cube the book reads: 3 cube before and the square...

Almost exactly the way it's written in the book.

In the LineIO mode press
3 SHIFT [xth-root] 5 0 0 0 * 3 / ( 4 * SHIFT [pi] ) ) =

In the MathIO mode press
SHIFT [xth-root] 3 right-arrow 5 0 0 0 * 3 / ( 4 * SHIFT [pi]) =

xth-root is the shifted function of the key just below and right of the big round cursor pad.
* is the multiply key
/ is the divide key
pi is the shifted function of the x10^x key in the middle of the bottom row

BTW there's no "square root" in this problem. There's a "cube root" or "third root". Square root is the second root.

Shift keys don't work. Both shift works for some letters but not many. Caps lock works, but not much good for symbols on number keys

This is probably due to a mismatch between the keyboard hardware (what is written on the keys) and the keyboard settings. For example if the keyboard is standard QWERTY US English and the setting is for French, pressing some keys will give the wrong output on the screen. You can correct this in the Control Panel / Regional Settings, Language settings (depending on your operating system). For your main language, say it is English, choose the appropriate keyboard, OK/Save etc. Good luck.

Need to know how to operate the multiple or combination keys functions. For example the J key also has a 1 on it...How do I operate this key using the small number...I need it for math to...

Hello
To use multi functioned keys, you may use following combinations
1. Normal press, just present the the big function written on screen 2. Shift+Key, gives the second function of the key 3. Num Lock on, Gives the numbers written on the key like J gives 1 and so on 4. Fn+Key with Fn color function written on the F1 to F12 keys
Hope this helps

Turn off the numlock - it will be key that has NumLock/NumLk written on it, alone or with the Fn key, or even Fn+Shift - depending on model.

Shift key sends pc into standby

You should check the power properties page. It's possible that the shift key somehow was assigned to standby. The other possibility is that you have a virus that has re-written part of your keyboard mapping. Run a virus scan using the most up to date definition file for your scanner.

Typing problems

I have a cat that has probably written the Great American Novel by now, so I sympathize. Please check to see that the numlock key is not depressed or the shift/function key combination will not solve your problem.

The fn key acts much like the shift key on your keyboard,,it is used to access the extra key functions which will be marked or written in blue on your key's.
They are supposed to be there.
