Samsung r519 not booting, black screen but working

Plug in an external monitor. If you get display then either the screen is bad or the inverter.

If you get nothing, try removing the memory and booting the computer. If you get BIOS and it starts beeping one or more of the memory modules is bad. If you still get nothing then you will want to replace the motherboard.

Hi my original problem of black screen turned out

Well... if your target is the motherboard replacement (and nothing else is going wrong except of your motherboard),
you don't need to reinstall the OS again (op hard disk).... if your new motherboard is axactly the same brand/model as the old one, nothing more you need to do, but only the to replace the old motherboard by the new one!!!

Black screen

Black screens are never good. Usually indicating a hardware failure. You can try a top down troubleshooting method I will give you here or you can send it to the experts to fix. First remove memory and see if you hear any beeps also try replacing with new(reinstall if none). Remove hard drive as well. Now if still nothing will show then you can narrow it down to the motherboard/processor/cmos battery. I would suggest ordering a new battery first and then motherboard- try using your old processor chip on the new motherboard.

Remove all connectors and cards except vga and power supply. and one stick of memory and start there.
If its still an issue remove the board from the case , it may be shorting out on something and try it outside the case,
check the power supply switch for 110/220v switch on back if it has it.
to manually trigger the power supply on the 24 pin connector
short the green and black wire that is next to it.

Elitegroup 848P-A7 Motherboard - Will not boot

I had this exact problem with a newly bought motherboard and it turned on fan turned but the screen was black, also I noticed once it turned on it wouldn't turn off, (Am wondering if this is the case with you) the motherboard was fine as it is in the other room now working away, so dont get rid of yours just yet. Most new motherboards require additional power to the processor from the power supply, through a four pin power cable, which should be availble with the newer power supply units having (number of pins for you motherbpard power supply) + 4 (which is the 4 pin J-connector) printed on the packaging. If this is connected and you are still having problems which for me was the case, then you will have to try a different approach. Cutting to the chase, the problem I had that produced similar effects of screen being black when the motherboard was powered on, was to do with my case. It was one of those flimsy aluminium foil types. I came to this conclusion by taking my motherboard out of the case and hooking it up to the cases power supply on an insulated surface such as a cork mat. It then was working fine. So I bought a good qulaity case with a new power supply just to be sure, hooked everything up and hey presto it was fixed. It turned out that enough power couldn't get to the board as the cheap case was shorting its supply. Hope this is of some help.
