SOURCE: kenmore elite microwave oven displays "Locked" and will not respond

The first thing to try is a "hard reset". Unplug it from the power line for a few minutes, plug it back in, set the clock, then try again.

If that doesn't work, please reply back with your exact model number.

A full Sears/Kenmore model number usually has 3 digits, a dot, then 8 more digits, such as ###.########

You may have a bad keypad due to moisture from steam or spray.

SOURCE: microwave samsung suddenly stoped working

UPDATE

The -SE-error is a shorted keypad.

If you (or someone you know) might want to replace it yourself, I have uploaded a handy guide with pictures showing you what's typically involved.

If you would like to have us do this for you, we do that for $39.95 plus part costs.

Please feel free to contact me directly if you need more help.

This is due to a defective or loose magnetron causing electrical interference and disruption in the control circuit board.

If your magnetron was recently replaced, it may have loose mounting nuts or bolts or maybe the wire mesh RF gasket was not installed or got pinched.

It may also need a new high-voltage diode and stirrer, and the cavity may be affected.

If you or someone you know decide to look into it, we have critical information on safety, disassembly and door switches at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa.

If it's within the magnetron portion of the warranty (usually 5-9 years) but out of the original full warranty (usually 1 year), then your manufacturer will cover the part cost, but not the cost to visit you or the labor charge to do the work.

SOURCE: Our samsung microwave displays shows 5E and hangs

-SE- error means you have a shorted membrane keypad.

If and when an oven is coming on or doing anything by itself, this is very dangerous and can result in a fire.

So until it is repaired, please leave it unplugged or leave the door open when it's not in use, and please do not leave it running unattended.

It's usually more economical on a Samsung to replace the control panel assembly, which includes the frame and keypad or (depending on your model number) the entire control box assembly which includes the keypad, frame and circuit board.

Either parts swap is easy to do. About 8 screws and a few connectors.

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number from the tag on the oven here.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

SOURCE: Samsung Microwave Oven shows -SE- on the display. Why?

-SE- error means you have a shorting membrane keypad.

Since it's less than one year old, it would be fully covered under warranty. I'd suggest contacting the manufacturer to get it fixed free.

Wat is SE or 5E please respond

Indicates a shorted membrane switch on a Samsung. Manufacturer suggests you unplug the oven for a minimum of 30 minutes to see if that clears the code.

If it doesn't fix the problem, then you may actually have a shorted switch.

Keypad not responding

Make sure none of the keys are stuck if a mechanical type like a computer keyboard or scratched or dented if a film type keyboard.

Make sure the door is closed completely.

If still not working, unplug the microwave from the oulet for 30 seconds or more to allow any internal microprocessor to be reset, then try again.

That's about the extent of what an end-user can do get the keyboard to work again. If still not working it should be brought to an appliance repair shop for service.

The computer died. Not much you can do with it. After ten years it doesn't owe you anything.

Of course you could bypass the whole timer with a toggle switch if you were MacGyver.

This F7 error code that you have on your display is all about the function key stuck on ERC. The only way to resolve this is to replace control board (also called ERC or clock). You may contact Sears for the replacement part at 1-800-252-1698; M-F 6:30 AM-10:30 PM - Sat 7:00 AM-9:30 PM - Sun 7:30 AM-9:30 PM - All times Central. Just get your model number ready when you call.

Hope this helps.

When pushed, the 30 sec button says 3 minutes. none of the display buttons work.

Have you inadvertently programmed your microwave for "autostart"?
Your model microwave has the ability to be programmed to go on at any given time of the day/night, even when you're not home so that you can have a defrosted and cooked meal waiting for you when you get in.
I know that if you hit the 30 sec button or the minute button when your micro is programmed to autostart it will tell you the time that it's programmed to autostart or the amount of time that's left for it continue cooking.

Have you tried unplugging it for a few minutes?
This should clear it's memory and then all you'll have to do is set the time on the regular clock if you want.

Here's where you can download and read your owners manual for further instructions on how to use the autostart feature and everything else:
