Changing drive belt on nad 6125 cassette deck

You may be lucky enough to find a rubber band that fits. But the quality rubber in a household rubber band is not as good as a belt made for the purpose, and variations in stretch may not affect your broccoli but may be audible in a cassette player. Watch tension and don't put on too tight because it could hurt delicate bearings. I have repaired many items this way also. Bon appetit and good listening! My cassette player does not work on my SONY CFD-50 boom box. The drive motor runs but does not forward or re-wind the tape. If the drive belt is off how do I replace it ?

If you can get the part from an electronics supply (we have a place here in my medium sized Canadian city). Once you obtain the part it just takes patience and a natural ability at puzzles to be able to replace it. Perhaps you should remove the old one first to be able to size it.

Tape players have several rubber belts in it and if we do not use them frequently belts loosen and become useless and they need to be replaced... . To accomplish this however you need some sort of handy man ability.. Take out the metal cover of the player by removing the screws on the sides .after removing the cover you can access the tape head /transport mechanism. if you look carefully to underneath of tape transport you will see the motor unit which belts will be there...check the belts for the moving mechanism and make sure the belts are not loosen / worn out or broken . You can replace it with a new one that may available in radio Shack stores. Take care..and let me know if it does not work out..

Cassette player doesnt play or record, ff or rewind. CD player, AM/FM radio works fine.

If you hear a faint whirring sound from the cassette player while performing these functions, the motor is fine, but you require a new drive belt/s that need to be fitted at an electronics shop. If you hear not sound at all, the motor has died (possibly belts too), again it will require and electrinics repair shop visit.
For the sake of repairing it, it maybe cheaper to buy a new one.

HI everyone, I need your help. I have change the black rubber band in the walkman but now when i play the tape it doesn't produce any sound.....On the other hand when i switch on the radio it has...

The black rubber bank is the belt that drives your motor to turn the capstan to eventtually turn the cassette. Now check if the motor is turning the capstan, the larger wheel over which you had wound up the belt. If not check if any connections have been detached when you did the belt change. Within the mechansim there is a small spring leaf switch that activates the motor and the circuits. so check this out or if you can use a multimeter to trace the voltage to the motor and circuit. If this was working prior to your work then look carefully for a careless lapse. I hope you must have wound the belt in the right direction. Helpful? Good day

I need a drive belt for my KT-4051 Stereo radio

This is a tough one because I am not sure of your location., But taking the old sample with you visit the street that sell spares and try to find out the oldest dealer who had been through the ages of tape recorders. I hope there will be some residual stock of the size you need. If not search for the next city or town , call up from your yellow pages to find if the dealer has stock of belt before you approach. You will find out soon. Good luck. Good day

The cassette spindles do not turn at all

Check for broken or stretched rubber drive belts. Age is as bad an enemy as wear. If it has been sitting for a period of months they go bad faster. Even if you keep it indoors out of the heat, the A/C will dry out the oil the belts and they wil lose their elastisity. There are usuallyonly about 3 or 4 belts in the cassette player at most and they cost less than a dollar each. If you can find the belts, buy extras and keep the extras in a zip lock bag. Parts are harder to find as time goes on and most manufacturers will deliverately quit selling normal wear items like belts after a few years to force you to buy a new product.
