Hmm, sounds like a fuse has blown inside the DS. There are 2 inside them, one for the charging circuit and one for the power circuit. Check this link for more information :-

I just got my touchscreen replaced and now my ds wont charge, when I plug it in there is no light or anything and it used to charge before they fixed it

Hi,
If that DS has been opened by any tech, they are supposed to give warranty.
Bring back that DS to the one that repaired it and tell them that it was charging before you brought it to them, otherwise you could complain that some part have been( hopefully not ) replace mistakenly from another DS.
Hope that helps!

I replaced the bottom screen and touch screen on my DS lite and reassembled without and issue, making sure all copper colored connections were snug and snapped, black and white cables are reattached,...

i did the same thing and had similar problems i solved it by putting electrical tape over the back of the new screen (which was just baremetal the orginal screen had some plastic on it i think) the bare metal screen must have been shorting it out give it a try

It wont turn no matter how long i charge it

does the orange light flash of a few seconds after you plug it in? If it does, I think that it is a battery problem. After a lot of charges, the battery's capacity decreases. If the orange light just flashes, I would try a new battery http://www.nintendorepairshop.com/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=191&cat=Nintendo+DS+Lite+Batteries for ds lite battery or http://www.nintendorepairshop.com/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=188&cat=Nintendo+DS+Batteries for a ds battery (both $8)

Ds lite comes on for a sec when charger plugged in then it goes of unit does not come on or charge

Hi three things come to mind, you dropped it but usually they wont admit it (dont go mad they usually all break when you do) if it rattles the capacitor under the power switch just fell off (common you have to solder it back on) if not that you replaced the bottom screen and forgot to insulate the metal of the back of the screen against the circuit board and blew either the f1 or f2 fuses (Replace them if you did) last thing i wont go into if you havent pulled it apart if you have reply and i will tell you Good Luck

Touch screen wont respond

double check that both cable/ribbons are connected properly to the motherboard, the small thin ribbon which curls over the top of the motherboard is the one which powers and reads the touch screen so double check this!!
if this is all in fine then im sorry to say your touch screen is broken and will need replacing!

Nintendo ds wont charge

cheekiemunke,

First of all, your DS Lite is charging both ways.....with power on and without power on.
You have for almost 99% sure a blown fuse F2 on the systemboard.
If you can solder you can try to replace it with a new one but be adviced, it is tricky if you don't have the skills with soldering SMD components and it can send your DS lite to the trash.
So my advice is find someone that repair DS Lites or order a fuse on eBay and try it yourself.

Regards

John

the backlight or fuses are dead. Do not bypass fuses or you'll kill your system.

Ds lite ac wall charger

When you first get the DS it will have a bit if charge on it but only a few hours worth. When the DS charges it usally comes up with a orange/red ish light then that goes out about a few hours later when its charged. ad if you want to chek if it is charging correcly turn the DS on whilst it is charging and the little battery simble in the top right corner should show the battery carging.

No power

I too replaced my bottom LCD with an aftermarket part and blew the fuses. I followed L1Cupids's advice and fixed mine. You have to solder F1 & F2 fuses. The insructions from the internet say to bridge the fuse with a wire. Well, it is only a 1/16 of an inch...I found this to be impossible. I just bridged the fuse with the solder iteself. If you need the instructions look here:
